XpertHR is well suited as a support tool for HR profession and good to double check things and would also be great for line managers in organisations that don't have any dedicated HR staff

Brightmine has been a great resource to sense check my knowledge. It has many many resources that can be leveraged in a whole variety of situations for all sorts of industries. It is regularly updated and clear when pages have been updated for legislation changes etc.
However, I would not rely on it as a resource for extremely complex ER cases or more sensitive employee issues as these are less generic scenarios.

It has helped when wanting to look at topical conversations, or recent concerns that have come to light. It has been useful when trying to find relevant templates of letters, formatting, and policies. It has been less suited when I am looking for information specifically about ill health capability, and ill health dismissal, I was unable to find anything on that topic on the site, and if it is on the site, it wasn't easily findable because I didn't find it when looking.

I have found that there is not a lot of guidance around apprentices, such as draft agreements and the legalities around hiring them.

I have found myself relying on the platform for templates and forms that have been update in line with recent policy changes.

I would recommend Brightmine to a colleague or peers because the website is great. It has a lot of up to date information that applies to their roles in HR. It helps keep us legally compliant and uses best practices in its guide. I recommend it also for ease, you don't need to start from scratch with letters etc.

It is well suited for organisations who is seeking to be informed about all policy changes and updates. It is helpful for organisations who are looking to refresh their policies and can refer to the policy templates of Brightmine to refresh them. It is helpful to offer training content that can be used to train staff.

Really well suited when needing employment advice, guidance or templates around common issues and these are easy to find.
Sometimes we have found it hard to find advice where we aren't 100% sure what we are looking for such as around law around international employees, we have eventually found the info but we have had to know what we were looking for rather than the system working that out from key words

Great for any size business to use, ensures you are compliant with ACAS and good practise which is great for any companies that dont have higher levels of HR support. Whatever you need you can access it also helps visualise processes to things such as disciplinaries and grievances etc so a great tool.

It is well suited for organisations who have qualified or experienced HR professionals who need guidance, support or legal service support.

We had a query regarding the interaction between Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave and Shared Parental Leave. This was quite a complex issue. The legal helpline answered this quickly and provided complete clarification. We were very pleased with the service.

It was good during a TUPE scenario and in the long-term absence situation. We did have the International Ireland subscription, but there are no templates or policies on it, so we canceled this year.

With the challenge of recruiting for roles, Brightmine has provided us with accurate post-salary data. This has helped us navigate the jobs market well after the difficulties of the pandemic and ensuing upheaval. Specifically, IT roles - have been challenging to benchmark post-COVID as many employees opted to seek employment that is entirely WFH.

For junior colleagues who need help drafting letters, the frameworks are great and really help them formulate succinct and compliant letters. The article content explaining legal backgrounds is also helpful. For more experienced team members, the information is less useful as it is what we would expect. More case studies and examination of recent judgments and analyses could be better used for these users.

Upskilling members of an HR team, particularly for overseas requirements.

Guides and employment law info are the things that are probably the easiest to find and to navigate

Mainly for sense checking an approach, for example in a redundancy situation, ensuring that we're following correct process and any particular scenarios we should be aware of.
Training for line managers and employees on key HR issues/line manager issues. Accompanying power point is great to adapt for own company use.

Policy templates are what I utilise most, I download them and adapt them to the organisation. This saves so much time.

Well suited to drafting or updating policies and procedures, provides links to calculators when making calculations for termination payments for example.
It's not a replacement for employment law advice but it can help you understand the questions that you should perhaps be asking of an employment law professional.

Onboarding and ongoing training as it ensures we cover all the bases on a wide-range of subject matters and in a fresh and interesting way.

XpertHR is useful for keeping up to date with employment law changes, which is helpful for timetabling in the scenarios we need to be aware of for the future. It provides recent case law examples, which are helpful for seeing how legislation is applied in a tribunal, and for general guidance on best practice and the like. The legal advice line has been helpful with answering questions I have had on the application of certain legislation, although more detailed responses would be appreciated.

Great place for updates on news. We generally use this to hear real-time critical news mostly on labor laws and industry-specific mandates. The platform equips us with comprehensive resources.

It's great for template letters and suggested policy wording.
