We can always go to Brightmine to see changing legislation and how this may affect our business. Brightmine is a useful tool to see how changing legislation can be incorporated into an existing policy or procedural document. This can be done quickly and without the need to go to an external law firm.

We can always easily access Brightmine and easily use the search functions to find what we are looking for. The topical articles are always useful to see becuase they might not be about something that I have specifically gone ont ot the site to find out about, but then finding myself reading about issues of the moment, which is always useful and interesting.

Similar to previous question really, around the maternity chances, they helped us be more inclusive, realign our change policy in way to support maternity leavers. We've also ensured our adoption leave mimics our additional OMP which previously it didn't mirror it. We've also used it for settlement agreements which enabled change.

It has helped in improving knowledge and awareness of any key government reforms such as the flexible working reforms of April 2024. It helped to be updated in terms of the key changes to the policy, updating the flexible request forms and addressing any staff queries and was found to be helpful.

Alert emails from Brightmine whenever there are changes means that we don't have to spend a lot of time scanning the horizon and looking to see if there have been any legislation changes, Brightmine alerts us via email when there are any changes. This means we can be ahead of the game

By ensuring our compliance it has helped us drive our people strategy, it is so important to ensure the basis of employment law is concrete to ensure practises and strategies can be pushed forward. New emails from XPERTHR have triggered discussions at meetings around compliance and law which has prompted change or even a proactive approach for example flexible working.

This has been not easy. If there is a newsletter flagging legislative changes, I haven't seen it pop up in my mail, and a reasonable amount of spam comes through. A weekly punch newsletter may get more attention in this space, flagging new changes and how to mitigate them.

I have used several of their examples to refresh our company policies, or construct brand new policies, which has been very helpful, rather than starting with a blank canvas. Brightmine send very regular i.e several a day e-mails with relevant topical information. During the current election period they have provided excellent insight into the different Parties manifesto's and the specific possible impacts to HR. A good example is the comprehensive guide they have produced on ethnicity pay gap reporting.
