We use dropbox to store all confidential employee files. A lot are used to share between HR and Finance as well so the cross-functional aspect is beneficial.

Scope is primarily for employee files for a company of between 50 - 100 employees.
  • Ease of use
  • Doc Storage
  • Upload/Download
  • Search functionality isn't always great
  • Customizable sharing function
Well-suited for cross-functional storage. Less appropriate when you need specific permissions on documents within the same folder

to distribute strategic documents and project work amongst my team.
We use it for pricing and policy reviews, employee reviews, commission statements and other management functions.
We also use it to share retail item photographs for use in out catalogs and display materials.
  • security
  • document review
  • distributed storage
  • a slightly cleaner interface for restoring deleted documents
It is well suited for distributed organizations that need to share documents quickly and securely.
It also serves as a good passive backup utility for key files.
