Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

We use Dropbox for file storage - it allows us to store large volume and size files in a well-organized, easy to navigate environment where all users have access. I appreciate the preview function which makes it easy to quickly view videos or design files (much of our usage) without having to download the file and open in the corresponding program.

Pros

  • Preview pane - quickly loads
  • Easy to navigate
  • Easy to send links externally and alter permissions

Cons

  • Starred or pinned folders easier to find
  • Periodic outages
  • Automatic permission setting on links
  • Storing a vast volume of files where they're easily accessible
  • Easy tool to deliver files externally
  • Quick collaboration between internal colleagues
Extremely user-friendly and easy to use - user experience is very clean and straightforward, crisp and clean. I've rarely had an issue uploading or downloading any files, even if they were very large file size. I do wish the search function were a little more streamlined, especially when we have a large number of similarly named files.
I used to be a Box user - I just liked the interface better, it seemed more modern and visually appealing. However, the preview function on Box is not very good - videos can take a long time to load, and I've never had that issue with Dropbox. For how often I'm previewing video files, this is an essential difference and makes Dropbox superior for my use case.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

Dropbox is great to share large files, especially video and design files, quickly with both internal colleagues and external partners. I also appreciate the fact that I can make crop/trim edits to videos right within the interface, which helps immensely as someone who is not trained in video editing and often just needs a quick update.
