Overall Satisfaction with Brightmine
Reviewing handbook suggestions, federal & state laws, updates to any laws, 50 state charts, etc. Consistently reviewing the laws within Brightmine to help build and maintain our policies. Utilizing the links and references within Brightmine to gather any posters/notices we need and to review related cases pertaining to federal and state laws. Brightmine is also a great resource for us when training coworkers, managers, etc. It helps us explain the laws in simple terms and provides great examples.

Cons
- Would love to see a combination report of the 50 state Paid Sick Leave chart and the Vacation Time Report. A large amount of companies combine these into PTO and it would be beneficial to have all the information in one place rather than consulting two reports. Or perhaps a new report that is tailored to PTO laws.
- Would like Old Laws maintained somewhere. When completing audits of minimum wage laws, I am unable to find the previous minimum wage requirements within Brightmine. This delays my audits and results in me turning to google to find the previous requirements. Example: Minimum wage for 2022 in California.
- Would be nice if there was a report of Old/Previous Minimum Wage Requirements
- Saved time on research
- When consulting with our outside legal counsel, we often send them the information found in Brightmine as a kickstart to receiving answers to our questions. We get our answers faster thanks to Brightmine.
- Thanks to Brightmine we have avoided costly final pay fees by being able to rely on Brightmine's 50 state chart of Final Pay Laws.
We are consistently reviewing Employment Laws to maintain compliance. Brightmine speeds up this process for us and allows us to be able to review more laws in a timeframe than what would have been possible on our own. Brightmine also serves to include information, policies, suggestions, safeguards, and more that we may not have considered.
Part of our HR strategy is growing our knowledge of HR processes, policies, and requirements. Our learning has vastly increased thanks to Brightmine. Possessing the information all in one place allows greater understanding and faster learning for our team.
Our HR compliance relies heavily on Brightmine, SHRM, and local news. However, even when hearing of updates through another resource, we are turning to Brightmine for details on the new updates. It is always involved in our research process for moving towards implementation.

Brightmine has more expansive details of state laws than SHRM. We often receive SHRM articles that offer new insight or instruction on compliance. Although these articles are valuable, they may have gaps in knowledge that can be fulfilled through Brightmine. Both are great resources, and we utilize both platforms.
