Overall Satisfaction with Meta Business Suite

Meta Business Suite is useful for planning and scheduling our posts across Facebook and Instagram. One of the challenges for publishers is ensuring members of a team don't all post content at the same time and undermine their impact. Using Meta Business Suite enables the scheduling of posts and gives a team oversight of the timing of others' posts so they can be spread out appropriately. It can also be easier to post using Meta Business Suite than using separate applications.

  • Enables easy scheduling of posts on Facebook and Instagram
  • Gives teams oversight of posts by others
  • Makes it easier to find and respond to messages from your audience
  • Enables easy viewing of comments and notifications

Cons

  • The planner enables timings of others' posts to be seen easily, but an easier view of that content (eg by hovering over it) would be preferable
  • Insights gives detailed information on the performance of posts, but could be more intuitive - and it would be helpful if it flagged particularly good performers or practices.
  • Sometimes using @ tags is a little slow - and it's not always easy to tell which ones you want without opening another window and testing them yourself.
  • It has reduced post scheduling clashes by about 75%.
  • It has given us far greater insight on best performing posts.
  • It has enabled swifter and improved responses to messaging.
Scheduling of posts and monitoring of insights is easy via Meta Business Suite. The Feeds & Grid section also enables an easy and quick oversight of your feeds on different platforms on one screen. It's also easy to see and respond to messages and to boost posts.
Reels and stories are also straightforward to use.
However, non-technically minded members of the team can find it less intuitive, with so many options that it can be a little hard to find the right one.
Hootsuite is effective for scheduling posts across multiple social media feeds. Hootsuite offers Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok and Google Business Profile integration, and you can use Google Analytics with it, but it no longer offers a free plan.
We choose Meta Business Suite primarily because it is free to use, and is relatively straightforward to operate for a team. While we can only use it to handle Facebook and Instagram integration, it is the best tool for handling those platforms.

Meta Business Suite is ideally suited where you want to schedule content and where teams need to see what each other are doing.
It is well suited to assessing the reach, interactions and success of your posts through its Insights, which can help you drive better performance.
It is ideally suited to boosting posts, should you want to.
And it is good for checking and replying to comments, or spotting notifications.
It is well suited for looking at multiple feeds - Facebook and Instagram - at once.
It is currently less well suited if you want to handle Threads as well as Facebook and Instagram.

Using Meta Business Suite

50 - Members of the editorial team - particularly editors, news editors, sports editors/reporters, digital editors and reporters - use Meta Business Suite. It is particularly valuable for managers within the editorial team to monitor posts and use the Insights function to see what is working well and then deliver feedback to those writing posts.
It can also be used by advertising / commercial managers for monitoring the success of ad campaigns.
1 - We have no specific job for supporting Meta Business Suite, but our audience manager is able to provide help in using it for those who need advice. However, we find most queries can be solved within teams eg a reporter asking their line manager for a query if they are less used to using Meta Business Suite. For slightly more complex functions, managers are the most likely to use it but still rarely need support.

Since it's free, we have no plans to stop using Meta Business Suite. We may expand our use of it, in fact. It makes scheduling content easier, enables easy monitoring of our audience's responses and comments and offers insight into our reach and successes, enabling us to plan better posts and learn from ones that did not perform as we hoped.
