Overall Satisfaction with Gong

We use Gong.io in our sales team, and it's a great tool for reviewing meetings (to go back to details that weren't written down), reviewing our own practices (for training and improving the way we work), and sharing with other departments who will need to check the meeting to keep going with the deal. Before Gong, we relied on the notes we took during the meeting or the interpretation of ourselves as salespersons of what happened during the meeting. Our manager had to join our meetings for training in real-time, now they can just rate us and go into specific situations. Other departments got second-hand information from our meetings; now they check the meetings as if they had been there.

Pros

  • Transcripts
  • Percentage of participation of each speaker
  • Links to the meetings are easy to share

Cons

  • It would be great to see everyone in the meeting recording. Only the speaker can be seen today, and it would be great to see a corporal reaction from customers when the salesperson is speaking, for example.
  • I think it's working better now, but it took some time for the notetaker to join the meeting if it was invited in the last minute.
  • Greater alignment within our organization: Internal teams don't need to rely on sales interpretation of the meeting or notes taken, they can see the meetings directly.
  • Sales training: A new hire can learn not only from their meetings but also from their colleagues', so the training period diminishes considerably.
  • Better impression to our clients: If I need to meet a client I haven't seen for a long time, I can go back to the last meeting to refresh everything. It gives the impression I remember them very well.
I still need to check the whole meeting and write a summary myself when sharing the information internally. The automatic summaries are pretty accurate. The way they organize the information in blocks is pretty impressive (outline) but I still can't rely on the automatic summary only, as there are certain details that aren't captured. Eg. it would be great if we could train Gong on what are our main blockers: (is the engagement ok? Budget ok? questions on the contract?). So that it could add a summary of whether we can move forward or not or where are warning signs.
I'm not using this feature.
Haven't used it.
We're currently using Hubspot as a CRM. I don't think we'll consider Gong as a CRM.
We didn't have any similar solution to Gong before getting it.

Do you think Gong delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Gong's feature set?

Yes

Did Gong live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Gong go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Gong again?

Yes

For sales meetings with clients, it's perfect. It's a great training tool for managers and for the salesperson itself. We can even learn from the meetings of other colleagues. I got used to it, and I wouldn't like to have a meeting without Gong, as I'm sure I can go back to any relevant details in case I've missed something during the meeting.
