TweetDeck is a social media scheduling tool I use for smaller clients who have limited budgets. I've used it for anywhere from four clients up to 12 or so clients. It helps us schedule posts for all clients and see them in one place while not impacting our own budget.
  • Budget-Friendly
  • Easy to Use
  • Solid Security
Cons
  • Better-Looking UI
  • More Functionality
  • Occasional Technical Hiccups
I think TweetDeck is definitely ideal for smaller single companies, startups or agencies with several clients who only post once or twice a week maximum. It's not as ideal for companies with robust social media presences, or agencies who have more than a dozen clients. It's also limited to X or Twitter, so it's ideal for clients where that channel is a focus, but no so if other platforms have more engagement.
  • Reduced Monthly Social Media Tool Costs
  • Less Man Hours Due to Not Having to Switch Profiles
  • Efficient Scheduling for Multiple Clients
I think TweetDeck is very easy to use and set up. If you've used Twitter or X before, you will be able to easily understand how to use TweetDeck, as they base their UX/UI on the real platform. It has a similar look and feel, though you can do much more when logged into a single account on the platform.
In my opinion, TweetDeck is definitely not as robust or feature-packed as more expensive options like Hootsuite and HubSpot, but it's also not as expensive. It is comparable to Meta Business Manager for a single account, but is much more efficient than Meta Business Manager when it comes to multiple accounts. So I'd say TweetDeck and Meta Business Manager are better for single businesses or small agencies, but Hootsuite and HubSpot are better for larger business models.

TweetDeck is used to keep track of multiple Twitter/X accounts at once - both our own, and others. This allows our media organisation to see, at a glance, breaking news events for coverage, emerging trends and conversations, and to pick up stories or leads for investigation. On its own, it is hard to use X to keep track of multiple accounts. That means we could miss opportunities to amplify each others' tweets, and miss out on picking up leads in a timely fashion. TweetDeck's columns enable you to keep an eye on key accounts or subjects in one field of view, meaning you can stay up to date much more easily.
  • Keeping track of your own X account alongside those of colleagues
  • It enables you to follow key X accounts in one view
  • It allows you to set up search words or phrases eg locations
  • It is easy to switch between accounts
Cons
  • Improving the ease for geographic search so that tweets nearer to you are more readily seen would enhance the search functionality. You can do a geocode search, but most users won't be aware of it
  • If you have dozens of columns, the drag and drop reordering process can be a little slow - an ability to reorganise by table would be useful
  • Automated localised trends analysis would be helpful - gathering most viewed / retweeted tweets from your feeds into one column for example to help your spot trends or major stories.
TweetDeck is ideal for complex media organisations / newsrooms where you want to keep track of several users accounts, or switch between multiple user and/or title accounts. It is perfect for those who want to follow conversations in real-time via many channels, at a glance. It is also useful for those who want to schedule tweets to provide around the clock coverage even when unmanned. Now that it paid-for is less suited to smaller organisations with tight budgets.
  • It has helped us increase Twitter followers by thousands - while this would be possible with X alone, it would have taken considerably longer.
  • It has enabled one person to handle three accounts with ease, meaning we could streamline management of social media.
  • It increased our team's visibility of scheduled tweets, reducing overlaps and ensuring better around the clock coverage.
  • Taking it paid-for has reduced its impact business wide as we could not afford to keep everyone's accounts.
We found TweetDeck was simpler to use and easier to navigate for handling tweets than Hootsuite. While it did not have the broader ability to handle multiple social media platforms, unlike Hootsuite, its ability to give you great oversight of many Twitter/X accounts at once meant it was the ideal tool for that platform. Hootsuite, however, has deeper sophistication and opportunities for social media managers looking to handle everything in one place.
It's easy to set up accounts, add accounts and switch between them. It is also straightforward to add columns so you can keep track of multiple X accounts at once. Scheduling tweets is intuitive. Dragging and dropping columns to reorder is also easy. Geocode searches are less straightforward and could be simplified, perhaps by a Google Maps integration, for example.
  • Adding columns
  • Switching between accounts
  • Scheduling content
  • Sending direct messages
  • Geocode searches
  • Organising dozens of columns
Yes, but I don't use it

  • It supports digital marketing both pushing and receiving
  • List management
  • Multiple handle management
  • Adding multiple views
Cons
  • Monitoring messages where you aren't tagged.
  • For example...if somebody writes "Hey @CompanyName I really don't like your product" you'll be notified. However, if somebody writes "Hey Company Name I really don't like your product" you won't get any notifications.
  • There is one way to manage this. You'll need to create a search column for each every term you'd like to follow which make your column management unbearable if you create more than 2.

There is no cost associated with TweetDeck.
Good free tool to get your organization started in pushing out digital marketing.

Again this is a free tool where I think multiple people within my organization use but I only deal with the employees within the marketing side of the house. I give them a basic run over of how to use the tool but nothing beyond that.

Yes, I was able to pick the tool up pretty easily as this is a free tool. You'll need Twitter working knowledge but besides that...it's pretty straight forward.
No
I've never seen any support for this product...maybe some online.
I've never seen any real customer service for this tool.
It's a pretty easy tool to use I find a few of the columns to be a bit repetitive. If you are managing more than one account you'll start to find yourself having easily 10 plus columns all tracking all different information which creates nice track lanes to keep all that relative information in one column or "view". With the amount of data that is pushed out, if you are following a large number of accounts, it's extremely easy to lose valuable posts in your feeds. As you begin building out your columns they get the point where you only look at one or two and the rest seem to be lost. Overall, this a free tool and there are other social monitoring tools that are out there but are in the multiple thousands of dollar range.
TweetDeck tends to be available for use majority of the time...however, I've had times where it would get stuck in a loop and then post my Tweet multiple times.
Besides posting multiple times when stuck in a loop not other real issues.

  • Tweetdeck is great for monitoring several terms at once, and providing desktop notifications.
Cons
  • Mobile integration – the iphone and ipad apps do not provide the same kind of view.
  • Allows us to respond to constituents in the most timely manner possible – saving us time and time is money.
We have compared TweetDeck to both HootSuite and Twitter Web. HootSuite is definitely better on analytics. The absence of even basic analytics in TweetDeck is problematic. However, there is a cost for this on the HS platform. TweetDeck has one main advantage over Twitter Web: TweetDeck has multiple display screen and Twitter Web displays everything in a single screen.

  • Although we didn’t purchase (it’s free) the problem was finding one central place to monitor everything that was being said about our brand on Twitter, and Twitter’s web platform only shows mentions or search terms one at a time.
  • We primarily use it for listening and also customer support (we intervene if somebody is having a problem or saying something negative).
We’ve always used Tweetdeck for Twitter monitoring.

I've never been able to get a support person on the phone to address any questions I've had. That being said, it is a free platform.
The interface is clean and easy to configure.
No major downtime, only some small blips.
