We use Workvivo in many different ways but primarily to distribute information to staff. This could be about an educational event, personal or social events (e.g. birthdays or work night out), or an activity in the industry that we serve. The primary problem that it addresses is the challenge posed by remote working. It keeps everyone informed and in touch. As a remote worker, I find it invaluable, particularly on the personal front. It means that when you are talking to a colleague during the day, you don't have to be in the office to know that it is their birthday or a work anniversary. That type of information helps maintain a working relationship and is always welcomed by everyone.
- Allows people to catch up on work-related happenings at work even if they are out on leave
- Strengthens social and personal connections by flagging birthdays, work anniversaries, or such
- Allows people to connect over shared interests e.g. online book clubs, sharing recommendations for holidays, activities for children, etc
- Allows easy access to work events through calendars of events and online links to the same
- Allows for polls to be run to gauge interest in anything from the best night to schedule a work event to the preferred format of these work events

- The home page can be quite busy
- It can be difficult to find old posts/comments
- Spaces for shared interests
- Events with calendar and links
- The way that the feed can be curated
