Likelihood to Recommend It is well suited for an organization that is probably between 75 to a hundred employees to use the full, comprehensive, fewer employees, I would say payroll, and maybe some of the features are great and not well suited for a company that is not prepared to make the investment. There is a high ROI in using the system, but it does come with a price that is worth paying when you have employees that you're supporting.
Read full review This is solely based on two things: the fact that we have been unable to have issues fixed after more than a year of dealing with them AND since a key contact for us left we are unable to get a fast turnaround on many questions unless we contact the person who handles our payroll. I like the platform and it's easy to use, but when it's not functioning how we need it to, that's a problem. I still cannot see what my actual PTO balance is on my dashboard (the same for three other employees). This is an issue.
Read full review Pros What I like is the sharing of data. It actually lets us, it removes paperwork, especially for onboarding. And as soon as you offer them, give them a job offer, you can automate the process and they get started on that and the flow of documents, the data from the documentation flows well, I really like that. And going from one module to the next is very similar. So adding a module is something we've kind of already done and it picks up the data and places it reduces redundancy, which is wonderful and it kind of does it all the same way. It's very, very friendly to use. It's not complicated, so it makes it really nice. So data sharing is probably number one and ease of transition is really nice. Also, we just started the recruitment piece and removed a software from a third party that we'd used for about six years and it was day and night. The Paylocity understood the process so much better than this third party that only sells recruitment software. So I was impressed with that. Read full review Fantastic customer service!! Well implemented products. Well rounded choices for all HR needs. Read full review Cons I think what I've seen over the last couple of years, and it's more towards, it's not really about the product, it's more about the customer service. And because I've been such a long-time user, I'm really familiar with Paylocity, and a lot of times when I call in, I'm calling in because I honestly can't find what I'm looking for. There's usually some little box that needs to be checked or unchecked, but I will say the customer service has gone down over the last several years. I'm not really sure what it is. Even my sales rep agrees that it's gone down. So I would love to see the customer service get back to where it used to be when I first started on Paylocity. Read full review Likelihood to Renew We have had many issues with the way our platform was set up at implementation that still continue to plague us. In addition, our benefits, in particular our FSA, have been mis-managed causing a balance due from an employee (and also a lot of work for our accounting and HR team, as well as stress for the employee). Our service rep continues to answer incorrectly on many fronts (original response is usually check out this paylocity article, vs. helping) and recently our COBRA management was mishandled (not adding Dental to a person on Cobra who had requested it). So- all in all...we are not particularly happy w/ Paylocity
Read full review Usability I find Paylocity to be almost too robust so that its functionalities are sometimes too complex to use. Sometimes it appears that they don't get a user's experience and keep a software developers mindset which doesn't always work well with users that are not at their technical level of expertise. A perfect example is the way the payroll dashboard USED to look compared to the recent update
Read full review Reliability and Availability Paylocity support is always available and I never have to wait endlessly on hold. If our dedicated account manage is not available, there is an entire team assigned to our account. Every one of them is knowledgeable about our organization and Paylocity's process.
Read full review Performance pages load in an acceptable amount of time, reports come back quickly, but integration is very complicated and hasn't been possible
Read full review Support Rating Everyone wants immediate assistance. Awaiting a response from an email only to ask 2-3 more questions is time consuming. Within the first six months of setup, I would rather respond back to the instructors who provided me the training in each category of my contract.
Read full review In-Person Training I didn't have in-person training, but I'm sure it was just as great as any other training/assistance Paylocity provides. Paylocity customer service is always available. You never have to be on hold and their answers are always accurate and timely. Documents in the help section are helpful as well. My in-person training was conducted y one of our employees who was involved in the initial set-up and training of all employees. She was excellent.
Read full review Online Training The training was live online, but was with a group of other companies. We did not receive any personalized training with our team. Whenever we would ask for training, we would be sent a peak article link or a video. It felt like the reps we dealt with didn't know the answer to the questions.
Read full review Implementation Rating I had gone through an implementation process of another HR platform (Paycom) in my previous job and was traumatized, it was painful. I was surprised how easy and fast it was with Paylocity, the team was very helpful and set us up for success
Read full review Alternatives Considered We were using Paychex, so I'd say not necessarily really similar. I mean it was an HRIS system, payroll system, but probably not designed for a company of our size. When we looked at several products before we chose Paylocity, but by far Paylocity gave us more of what we needed. It delivered more of what we needed than other companies did.
Read full review Proliant is the only payroll software I have used, and I don't plan on changing that anytime soon. It gives me everything I need in simple, easy-to-use software. If I have questions they have quality customer service. I get calls weekly to change to other payroll services, and I don't consider changing because there is no need to change - I have everything I need here. Proliant does exactly the job I am looking for it to do.

Read full review Return on Investment I think reduction in time would be probably the most reason we use it. Some of the other systems we use, they don't always connect and communicate with one another, which can be more time consuming. So I think that's something definitely we want to improve on.
