Paylocity Review
Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We use it for our time and labor. We have that module. We use the performance module, the compensation module, the benefits module, the LMS module, and the survey module. Honestly, we have all of the modules that are tied into Paylocity. We utilize all of them. I have watched Paylocity grow since 2008 before it had any of these modules. It was just the HR, payroll, time and labor. So it's been great to see the growth over the years and it really helps to combine all of the things that we need to get done in HR and put it in one place and then conveniently attach it to the employee profiles so we're not having to use all different kinds of places, sources, and paper.
Pros
- I love the time and labor and I love all of the different reports. I especially love the dynamic reports. It has the ability to add in the different things that I need without having to use Report Writer. So it gives me the foundations and then the ability to add in the things that are pertinent to what I'm trying to get done.
Cons
- I think what I've seen over the last couple of years, and it's more towards, it's not really about the product, it's more about the customer service. And because I've been such a long-time user, I'm really familiar with Paylocity, and a lot of times when I call in, I'm calling in because I honestly can't find what I'm looking for. There's usually some little box that needs to be checked or unchecked, but I will say the customer service has gone down over the last several years. I'm not really sure what it is. Even my sales rep agrees that it's gone down. So I would love to see the customer service get back to where it used to be when I first started on Paylocity.
- I think there's a lot of data that we're capturing and honestly the consistency of being able to automate a lot of processes, which frees up my time to really deal with my employees at the level that they need me to. And so it frees up that admin task that before Paylocity or having to do by hand or a little bit more of a manual process.
I would say at my previous company we had recruiting. I have the recruiting at this company, but in my previous company, we were a federal contractor. So having that recruiting tool that we could capture the data that we need for our affirmative action plan was amazing. Here, I don't have a federal contract or affirmative action plan, but we still use the recruiting module and being able to post it and fill in our positions to where I can just go to the recruiting module. It automatically feeds in and then disperses to the places that I need it to. It really saves me time.
I haven't used that in that aspect, so I'm probably not a good person to ask that question.
ADP is not user-friendly. It was hard to run payroll, hard to pull reports. And the customer service, they just aren't willing to help and it takes a long time and when you have employees that need things and you are under a deadline or under pressure to get certain things done, like payroll. You need someone that's going to show up for you on time and get you to the things that you need right away. Paylocity has done that.
