Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize it for both internal and external meetings as well as for webinars, external trainings, and as a way to connect with remote colleagues. Our company provides trainings for parents, schools, and districts, for which we use Zoom Workplace. We also book meetings with those same people to discuss and plan training and support and our sales team books sales meetings with them. We run free webinars for parents. We also use Zoom Workplace for internal communication and meetings with colleagues as we work across the US.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Clear connection, visual and audio.
Pretty easy to navigate and to explain to someone how to navigate.
Very easy to logon to and connect.
Recognizable.

Cons

Our deaf partners prefer using Google Meets because of the Close Captioning, which is available without an interpreter.
Some participants have difficulty logging onto the link.
Sometimes when sharing a screen, the toolbars and participants videos disappear and it can be difficult to locate in the moment when being live on air.
Some of the tools (annotation, etc.) are a little difficult to find.
I wish polls were more dynamic visually and offered more options.

It makes it easy to connect with internal colleagues and external partners

Zoom AI Companion

It has been pretty helpful in terms of capturing meeting notes and serving as a reference for what has been discussed, action planning, etc. There are some key annoyances- it defaults my title "Dr." to "he" which is biased and a bit concerning. Additionally, some people have expressed preference that it not be activated for fear of Big Brother.

Zoom Workplace doesn't necessitate a cumbersome download and is generally easy to navigate and utilize.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is my go-to and definitely my strong preference for hosting video calls. It generally is pretty straightforward and when it is not, I am able to google to find and troubleshoot what I want it to do. However, it's not perfect and there seems to be consensus for what seem to be some minor fixes. For example, it would be great to be able to create and share polls with colleagues instead of them needing to recreate them. I wish there was increased accessibility for our deaf partners and I wish there was in-the-moment help requests or support- for example, a lot of the educators frequently have difficulty troubleshooting their video and microphone- if there was an easy way they could click and get a troubleshooting example, that would be great!
