Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro in 3 primary ways: 1. Organizing unstructured thinking, individually and with collaborators. 2. Taking notes from customer development interviews, including post-interview synthesis. 3. Sharing organized thoughts with a broader audience (stakeholders, colleagues, team meetings, etc...).

Pros

  • Jotting down, organizing, and synthesizing brainstorm-y thoughts.
  • Taking notes in customer interviews for design research / customer development.
  • Inviting collaboration & participation in distributed teams / virtual meetings i.e. Zoom.

Cons

  • Responsiveness: Miro consistently fails to respond to customer feedback. Often, I encounter an issue and look on Google/Reddit/etc. for a solution, and there is an open feature request from years ago with the same issue. There will be many comments and much agreement about the issue, as well as suggestions for solutions that seem entirely ignored.
  • Scale issues/board optimization: When working with non-designer colleagues, I see colleagues unintentionally create objects at a massive scale. This means the boards are used at very low zoom levels (i.e. 3%) to have a rational scale on a monitor. These boards become very slow and cumbersome. A warning or way to easily bring boards back to a more sensible scale would be beneficial.
  • My work does not follow a transparent process or schedule to deliver impactful numbers to quote, but Miro has been a valuable productivity tool for several teams.
  • It allows for good sharing of large quantities of information (customer interview notes, market landscapes, research analysis/notes, etc...)
Yes. I work in a remote-first organization, and Miro is a crucial live collaboration tool. It allows for a shared view and simultaneous contribution in a critical way.
Miro wins on ease of use, quick onboarding, and generally on making the cost of entry very low. Other tools may focus more on collaborative creation or an expanded feature set, but for my purposes, simplicity wins.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

No

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

As a CX professional, I wouldn't say I like NPS. I give it a nine because, in reality, I am generally optimistic about Miro and find it a helpful tool. There's no reason for me to wind up as neutral or a detractor in the calculation.
