Best tool for track and manage the project work

I used Atlassian Jira to manage our daily work, track issues, track tasks, and handle project progress. Our development, QA and support team create tickets for bugs, features, change requests, improvements, production bugs, and tasks. With Atlassian Jira, every task is assigned to a team member, it has status, and is monitored until it's completed. I mainly use Atlassian Jira for tracking, sprint planning, and monitoring the project progress.

Pros

  • Atlassian Jira is very good at managing and tracking tasks and issues.
  • We can use boards and sprints to plan tasks for a specific time period.
  • Team members can comment on tickets, attach files, videos, images, and share updates in one place.
  • It also provide dashboards that help us to see tasks, issues, etc.

Cons

  • Atlassian Jira has many features which can make it confusing for a new users at the time of beginning.
  • If there are many projects, and tickets, then Atlassian Jira become slow.
  • Searching issues may take more time than expected.

Return on Investment

  • It helped our team to track progress, task status. It improved our team productivity.
  • team leads can easily check team task status, progress, and check issues update.

Great tool for enterprises for project and resource management

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use JIRA for project and resource management. I create tasks and stories in JIRA and follow KANBAN methodology. Some of our teams track their work using Agile Scrum method. We can see the occupancy of a specific resource and measure productivity. We can log leaves, holidays, etc. and better manage team for critical projects. The reports can be exported and shared with external teams.

Pros

  • Project Management
  • Resource Management
  • Dashboard and Reporting
  • Integrations

Cons

  • Searching issues can be simplified

Return on Investment

  • Jira saved 30% time on resource management which we used to do manually in excel.

Good tool to manage projects

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Atlassian Jira helps us manage and track Project, stories, tasks, bugs, etc. It is very helpful where you have big conplex project and want to manage and keep everything documentated. You can also assign a work item to the individual track that work item's status by changing it's status. It can be used by all from Developers to Quality Analysts.

Pros

  • Keep track of overall project
  • Assign a work item to others when your work is done in that item
  • Create bugs related work items

Cons

  • It can add AI in the Atlassian Jira
  • It should restricte from editing others comment
  • There should be some confirmation on assigning work items to others

Return on Investment

  • Atlassian Jira can be used to track workitems in the project, so it is better for project and resource management
  • Atlassian Jira can be used in any project model(i.e. agile, waterfall etc.) So we can provide any business model based on client need.

Jira helps me do my job better and easier!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Jira as a work management tool. Jira is very helpful in creating and managing work projects and keep track of the projects. Jira can also be configured with addons, even for Service Desk, that will help call centre managers, help desk agents. I am mainly using Jira for tracking the sprint work and for opening bugs, where it is very configurable, the Jira Administrator being able to configure the fields almost everywhere in the app.

Pros

  • Bug tracking
  • Project management
  • Email notifications
  • Test case management

Cons

  • I do not have any cons related to the app
  • Jira has multiple versions, and if working on multiple projects on different Jira versions, might create a little confusion

Most Important Features

  • Bug tracking
  • Project management
  • Bug opening

Return on Investment

  • Jira had an positive impact, helping the teams track their projects and get the job done

Great tool for team organization and collaboration

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Atlassian Jira to describe our tasks and plan our sprints. The tool allows to structure multiple tasks in epics, which helps searching, organizing, working together and planning ahead. We use the tool throughout the whole process of a sprint - for planning, daylies, updating and documenting our tasks, creating bug tickets, refinements, reviews. The tool offers a really nice overview (no matter if you choose Scrum, Kanban or other principles) of your current sprints and the backlog and the features per userstory or bug are really helpful to document, discuss, track the state etc.

Pros

  • Organizing sprints
  • Describing and tracking tasks
  • Filter methods

Cons

  • Navigation, e.g. to Wiki
  • Customizable dashborrds

Return on Investment

  • Time saving
  • Higher productivity through better planning
  • Better collaboration through better overview of tasks and subtasks
