Overall Satisfaction with Absorb LMS

Larkin Street Youth Services is a San Francisco-based non-profit dedicated to eliminating youth homelessness. We serve over 3,000 transitional-aged youth (ages 18-24) to move beyond homelessness into their entire lives. Our learning platform (Larkin Street Learning) serves 250 client-facing and administrative support staff throughout the Bay Area. Absorb can meet our following customer needs: -Designing custom Self-Paced and ILC setup -Designing unique learning paths -Designing engaging landing page materials -Designing custom reports for monitoring compliance, custom course, and third-party course progress -Designing custom reports for tracking course evaluations and continuous quality improvement Helpful products and services: -Consultation with CM for ongoing problem solving and design suggestions -Help Desk, Knowledge Articles -Amplify for soft skills micro-learning -Manager Dashboard -Ideas Portal for Improvements -Amplify+, Create, and Analyze all sounds fantastic, we have not yet been able to integrate though are moving in that direction. -Analyzing also seems helpful, but it may exceed our budget.

Pros

  • Customer Support.
  • Offering affordable rates for Non-Profit Organizations.
  • Providing micro-learning course library for soft skills development.
  • Excellent reporting capabilities.
  • Quick response times for problem solving issues.
  • Lots of customization opportunities.

Cons

  • External Course Completions are VERY challenging to monitor/ set up. For example, we offer CPR first aid in-house; folks can complete it externally. No single report can capture external and internal completions in the exact location.
  • Audits are challenging. State representatives need to see the certificates of completion. Managers must access all of their direct reports' certificates in one place. We need to pull individual certificates one at a time from other external upload or course upload reports and print/ save each one by one. This takes up LOTS of time.
  • ILC Auto-enrollment would be very helpful when we need to enroll folks in required courses without a self-enrollment option (or when they are new and need to be enrolled in onboarding courses).
  • An instructor dashboard would be helpful similar to the Manager Dashboard.
  • Unification of knowledge, access to knowledge, and mission-aligned content.
  • Increased engagement in professional and soft skills development org wide.
  • Transparency and equity in promotional paths.
  • Streamlined onboarding.
  • Content Libraries (Absorb Amplify or 3rd Party Libraries)
  • Intelligent Recommendations
  • Social Learning (Absorb Engage)
