Reviews
(1-25 of 30)Crownpeak DXM (SaaS, headless, adaptable, interoperable)
- Due to the headless nature of the platform, publishing is super fast straight to HTML.
- One repository of content capable of feeding different applications across different languages.
- Flexibility of integrations fits well with the compossible enterprise model
- Back end look and feel is a little dated, could do with some updating on interface design.
- Navigating content tree's can be a little long winded with deeper content sites, although it's hard to see a way around this.
Crownpeak DXM - Truly SaaS!
- The SaaS platform eliminates the headache of upgrades and patches and allows businesses to just focus on the site development and day-to-day management.
- Crownpeak's technical support team is always prompt with answering any question or issue that arises.
- The lack of real-time debugging may contribute to additional development effort at times.
- Although its my understanding that its being addressed, the publishing queue can be slow at times during extremely heavy publishing loads.
Crownpeak in Real Life
Our last three deployments have have included multiple brands, within the same company. The ability to leverage the Component Library, adn re-use standardized componets, has been a huge advantage. In terms of speed to market and reduced cost of ownership.
- Component re-use.
- Scalable platform.
- Very robust suite of development and post-development tools.
- Excellent training and support.
- Built-in support for IP management and geo fencing
- Multi-language support
- A-B comparisons of designs
- Additional integrations with 3rd party tools and systems.
Crownpeak DXM is less suitable for deployments of 3 or fewer websites.
Crownpeak is a great CMS
- Less time to market
- Easy to maintain
- Flexible
- Secure
- Good performance
- Better developer experience
- More technical documentation
- Instead of relying on 3rd party personalization (eg Dynamic Yield) invest in improving their own personalization capabilities
A Powerful Platform to Rapidly Create Your Digital Experiences
- Speed and agility of developing solutions
- Headless architecture
- Support for latest security and privacy rules
- Content taxonomy has a learning curve
Enterprise Level CMS functionalities with Saas infrastructure!
- Build & manage digital experiences without dependency on your IT team
- Built-in Digital Quality tool (DQM) tool allows you to check the quality of content and any accessibility issues and immediately flag any issues before publishing.
- Build websites with the component-based technology and spend less effort in creating the best user experience for the end-user
- Platform can be slow sometimes.
- Training materials are limited
Crownpeak DXM Review for Marketers!
- The webpages themselves are relatively easy to build
- There are many creative options within the tool to use for web page build outs
- The UI is very clean and organized
- The taxonomies within Crownpeak are complicated and could be easier to be organized
- The platform itself can be slow at times (resolve times can be a bit long)
- More specifically, saving files can be extremely slow at times...
Crownpeak DXM - Hybrid and Truly SaaS

Crownpeak DXM Review
- Flexible.
- Quick turn around time to deployment.
- Easy to use.
- Always room for improvement with speed/performance.
Crownpeak DXM Review
- Governance.
- Customer support.
- Tooling for DQM.
- Provide less flexibility.
- Unclear documentation.
- Lacks features in inline editing.
My Crownpeak DXM Review
- Speed- the development process is much shorter
- Security- high regulatory compliance
- Eliminates the need for infrastructure
- Reporting
Crownpeak DXM - Flexibility and agility without compromise
- Seamless integration with third-party technology providers (DIM, PIM, marketing automation platforms, and so forth)
- The component-based design allows for greater flexibility to manage dynamic content
- Easy to use, agile and scalable platform to publish multilingual, digital experiences
- Centralized content hub to publish content on different applications across different languages
- There is a learning curve for new users getting used to the admin UI. Having more experienced Crownpeak users on board can help.
A good option.
- Asset organization
- Publishing
- Working in the editors may require lots of scrolling.
An ideal CMS tool for offering a great user experience
- Simplistic Content Management - the system is very easy to learn and use.
- Customer Support Team is great - our issues get responses and resolution in a timely manner.
- It's really easy to clone/duplicate assets, which helps with building out new sites or new sections within existing sites.
- The DQM tool helps us track, identify and correct any organic SEO or general website functionality issues.
- I never got to use the desktop application version - which my colleagues love(ed) - but the web browser version, although easy, has some weird glitches. For instance, I have to refresh the browser one-two times per day to get the scroll bar to appear to scroll through long form asset files/content pages.
- It would be nice to have some kind of capability to have new files/PDFs wrapped when you upload them. At the moment, I have to upload a new file, then go manually wrap it before I embed it on a page, which adds an extra step to common tasks I perform.
- This is minor, but since CrownPeak is soon phasing out it’s app, it’d be nice if the desktop portal/interface had a more responsive design (especially for folks who have to work from home because of the pandemic and don’t have a robust set up). In my experience, CrownPeak’s competitor’s Sitecore and Drupal have a browser portal/interface that is much more responsive and laptop screen-friendly.
CrownPeak just needs to enhance the user experience a bit for the tool to warrant a 9/10 or 10/10, in my opinion.
Crownpeak DXM Review
- Able to easily make edits to content and publish.
- Able to easily understand CMS navigation.
- Scheduled publishing is useful feature.
- Searching for a particular asset is almost unusable, you have to know exact name of the asset you are looking for.
- Pages with many assets or dependencies take a long time to load.
- Set up a way to automatically migrate content - API or automation tools.
Great tool, great experience
- Ease of changing content
- Can create multiple types of pages from a single template
- Manage files in one place
- Templates are hard to design; only developers really can interact with the templates
- Need a better way to allow marketing teams to design quick templates, like drag-and-drop designer
- Takes some time to get used to different features
Perfect fit for enterprise CMS implementation
- Seamless upgrades and enhancements. In true Saas fashion, you don't have to worry about what version your software is on, as you are always on the latest.
- Highly performant. Allows you to create extremely lightweight applications that have no load time and snappy performance.
- The admin UI takes a little getting used to for new users.
- Ability to deploy at a work group level
- Compartmentalize their solution for client flexibility
- Compete on their differences and embrace them
Reliable CMS With Unsurpassed Support
- Lots of flexibility.
- Easy to use user interface.
- Platform runs slowly.
- Brand not well known in industry.
Complete Automated Digital Governance A must have
- Provide guidelines with SEO related issues on each landing page
- Use it to resolve all the accessibility issues with the website
- User interface could be better to navigate
- Provide some information on the errors to educate the user
- Improve SEO: ensures compliance with best practices and guidelines, some of the main reasons we utilize the platform is for monitoring misspellings, broken image, and broken link detection
- Web Accessibility: fully supports Web Content Guidelines (WCAG).
Review of Crownpeak DXM
- The form inputs are very flexible
- The REST API is generally pretty intuitive
- It feels very top-to-bottom and self-contained, so I don't have to bother with lots of plugins and interop and such
- Navigation within the folder structure feels clunky all-around.
- Local debugging is difficult-to-impossible
- The Visual Studio plugin is buggy
- True documentation for the REST API is sparse
Good in some areas, bad in many others
- The ability to search for registrants within a list
- Individualizing event information
- Takes a LONG time to load.
- Can't delete a registrant without them being notified (for example, if someone registers multiple times).
- Can't upload files in special instructions (for example, an event flyer).
