Overall Satisfaction with WinZip
WinZip is used for transferring log files for server issues to the vendor and project files for research projects to collaborators. It is also great for backing up files and folders for individuals or projects to keep disk size to a reasonable size.
Pros
- It takes extremely large files and makes them small enough to send via email.
- The encryption allows the projects to send PHI data and stay in HIPPA compliance.
- It is easy to use so no training is required for users.
Cons
- When the dashboard comes up, it is not always intuitive as to the location of where files are going when unzipping; you have to click on the file to have the dialog come up.
- Password-protection usage is complex.
- Fewer icons as the number of them can be confusing.
