Overall Satisfaction with UKG Pro
We use UKG Pro for payroll, HRIS, recruiting, onboarding, benefits, timekeeping, performance reviews, and report writing/ statistical analysis. Our employees use UKG Pro for self-service to view their pay stubs, request PTO time, complete self-reflection in performance reviews, and complete benefits enrollments. Managers use UKG Pro to approve hours worked PTO requests, conduct performance reviews, and strategically plan their human capital.
Pros
- They have an incredible payroll processing part of their system. It is very easy to process payroll and open a payroll check to make any necessary updates.
- They have a very robust custom report writing section powered by IMB Cognos analytics. Users can slice and dice the data in many different ways and create scheduled reports.
- The performance review section of UKG is very robust. It is easy for HR professionals to monitor the status of the performance reviews and see if there is disagreement between supervisors and employees.
Cons
- While very powerful and robust, the custom report writing section does require the user to know some basic SQL coding to utilize the function entirely.
- The benefits administration piece powered by PlanSource is excellent for employee experience but lacks all the necessary reporting and functionality for administrators.
- The customer service at UKG is excellent, but there is a delay in receiving the assistance one needs.
- One cannot have open or empty spots or positions in the org charts, only active employees.
- By having integrations/file feeds with our insurance providers, we have saved over $500,000 per year in reduction of fraudulent claims.
- By utilizing their recruit and onboarding process, we have decreased the time spent on data entry and new hire paperwork processing and saved over $50,000 per year.
- Integrations with our benefits providers, new hires, terminations, and address changes have saved us hundreds of data entry hours per year, with an estimated savings of $10,000 annually.
We have been able to centralize payroll. We have over 20 companies owned by the Wurth Group in the US, and by centralizing payroll, we have freed up finance and Human Resources professionals to focus on value-added tasks such as attracting, developing, and retaining talent while having a small team of dedicated payroll professionals click the buttons to pay the employees.
We used to do our open enrollment each year with pen and paper. This led to much paper processing for the human resources departments each November/December. Now that we have the open enrollment online, employees can complete their open enrollment on a computer, tablet, or phone. At the same time, the HR teams can track who has completed open enrollment and have all the changes sent to the carriers without needing hours of data entry.
