The TrustRadius suite of products helped bring customer voice and a customer's validation to the sales cycle. We predominantly use customer reviews in new business sales, renewals, and marketing promotions.

Pros

  • I like the review acceleration program they've developed to help you garner more reviews. It's a very structured campaign that they mostly run for you.
  • Our sales teams love the ability to compare different competitors side-by-side and send this comparison via URL to prospects comparing us to other competitors.
  • I love how we can curate review quotes that are related to specific market segments, product capabilities, buyer personas and use cases and have those show up on a landing page via an interstitial.

Cons

  • My only big con was the pricing around the Salesforce integration being too expensive. As a more volume-based model with a higher sales headcount, the $/head was too high to justify. It was equivalent to some end-to-end solutions we pay for by seat, so while we got value out of it, we had to remove this product because we couldn't justify ROI.

All around I'm amazed our customers take the time to write such thoughtful reviews. They give us a lot of rich information and content that we reuse and repurpose for marketing and sales purposes.
G2Crowd is the only other major player in our space, which we use alongside TrustRadius. It's important to have a complete profile on both platforms I believe, though I like the Salesforce integration that TrustRadius has. G2Crowd doesn't have anything similar last time I checked.
TrustRadius is great for mid-market to enterprise sales organizations where there is a true sales cycle of 15 days or longer. Customer reviews can be the make-or-break in a deal, so they're a very useful arsenal to equip your sales team with. It doesn't make quite as much for large sales forces just because of the pricing structure.

And I sincerely appreciate your honest feedback on our Salesforce integration pricing. As you mention, this capability is unique to TrustRadius; TrendKite was one of our very first Beta testers. TrendKite's ability to roll out the capabilities so easily and drive adoption so rapidly gave us the confidence we needed to take these capabilities to the market more broadly. Along the way, we've not only expanded the feature set for our Salesforce integration based on feedback from TrendKite and others, but also evolved our pricing.
