We started using Text-Em-All for youth service reminders. We have since transitioned to use Text-Em-All to:
Keep church members (specifically small group members) up-to-date on announcement for class and church events.
Post group information about upcoming small group study focus.
Distribute trip info.
Encourage small group study members with specific scripture verses.
Send reminders.

- Keep up with groups of contacts
- scheduling of future messages
- customization fields are great for personalizing messages
Cons
- a full featured iphone app would be great! so that everything could be done through the app.
- easy joining/leaving groups
- scheduling messages
- our target group is teenage and 20 somethings. Text technology is their main method of communication. it has had a great impact on communication.
We have not used it for "emergency" situations yet. But it has been beneficial for last minute messaging.
