Overall Satisfaction with SAP Concur

We use SAP Concur as our employee expense report tool to send info to SAP Accounts Payables to get paid. It is web based. The product offers a web based tool where employees can enter their detailed expense, attached receipts, add comments, itemize hotel expense. After the employee submits the report, it will go through an automated approval chain. When all approved, it will go to SAP for payments. Payment info also gets passed back to SAP Concur. SAP Concur also has an APP people can use on the cell phone, so they can snag a pic on the go and upload to SAP Concur. We use it for all of our employees world wide which is over 100,000.

Pros

  • Concur APP allows user to take receipts with cell phone and upload
  • Concur can itemized hotel charges, breaking down to city, state taxes etc.
  • Concur can be integrated to SSO using single sign on
  • Concur desktop and app are integrated. data is saved in the cloud, so can pick up from desktop version or app any time

Cons

  • on hotel itemization, Concur only breaks down hotel expense to 2-3 taxes, some cities charges more than 3 different types of taxes on the room charge, so I had to add some taxes together
  • I don't have ROI information
  • I do like the faster employee reimbursement process, I can get paid in one week.
  • I like getting emails on each approval process
  • I like the warning messages as I prepare the report
I have used just Excel attachment to submit expense report before. Concur is much more convenient. I can do it in office or from cell phone from anywhere.
ECC6 is integrated with SAP Concur. We were able to get expense reports from Concur into SAP AP module to pay and pass back pmt data. We also integrated HR org chat into SAP Concur as the approval hierarchy.
yes, it helps our organization to grow. It gave employee much more flexibility to submit expense and makes approval easer too for managers.
For Admin, it is easy to set approval and spend limits. It can import data from external sources as the approval hierarchy. It also allows delegation when approvers are out of office. For Employees, it really made their submission process easier as they can do from computer or phone.

It is well suited when I have restaurant expenses. I can take a pic from dinner table and upload to the SAP Concur APP. I also like getting email notification when it is approved and paid. I have not had any experience where it is less appropriate.
