Overall Satisfaction with PRTG Network Monitor

We currently use PRTG Network Monitor to monitor the infrastructure we have at the cross-network level for several projects we manage. Initially, PRTG Network Monitor allowed us to reduce the impact of penalties for delays in restoring services due to non-compliance with SLA. We are currently trying to extend it to use in network monitoring for some specific clients

First of all, PRTG Network Monitor allowed me to use a demo with full functionality with a limited number of sensors, which the others do not allow because the demos with full functionality are for a short period of time. I consider PRTG Network Monitor superior to the others because apart from being very easy It is very intuitive to configure and does not require much infrastructure or advanced knowledge to install it.

It is very useful for monitoring network infrastructure such as Switch, Router, AP, FW, SD-WAN equipment and for the infrastructure part if I consider that monitoring for servers is very basic (CPU, Memory, RAM) which perhaps It can be done with another tool from the same manufacturer or perhaps integrated into the PRTG Network Monitor

Using PRTG Network Monitor

50 - The people who use the PRTG Network Monitor are basically all of us who have to do with the administration of telecommunications equipment for projects that are transversal or for a specific project, specifically router, switch, AP, firewall or any other element that is used to guarantee project communications or that provides some type of network service to users.
2 - The people who currently provide support to the PRTG Network Monitor are Networking administrators who, after using the demo and carrying out some laboratories in a simple way, configured it and currently provide support. No great knowledge or support from the manufacturer was required to install it since it is very intuitive and Easy to use.

I would renew it because the platform has brought us many technical and economic benefits that make the cost-benefit ratio very good. Additionally, to do so does not require large investments in training, licensing or infrastructure, and at the administration level, extensive knowledge is not required to be able to bear it.

Evaluating PRTG Network Monitor and Competitors

Yes - Before we used Cacti but the platform was not very friendly, the graphical interface, on the other hand for licensing it was very expensive and did not work in real time, so the decision to change was given by price and also by the ease of implementing it, using it and also the benefits such as sending emails in Real time.

The first basically the price, the second the possibility of using the tool through a demo with all the functionalities allowed us to know it in all its extensions without purchasing it and once with that idea we bought it, the third the benefits such as sending notifications via email in real time and the fourth is the ease of implementing and being able to use it since you can use it from a computer via the web or with a client or from a cell phone from anywhere in the world through a very friendly APP
If I had to do it again it is very difficult to say what to change but basically it would give back the time to consider the tool a long time ago, the experience of changing it was so good that there would be nothing else I would like to change

The tool is very easy to implement and use, everything is really done in a very intuitive way where you do not need to be an expert to adjust it and also for use from a simple cell phone, download the APP, log in and you can now monitor your network, I would recommend it because since it is so easy to use and implement, it does not require training personnel or paying for implementation services.
