Overall Satisfaction with Planview Portfolios

Portfolios is used to support our NPD (New Product Development) process. It used as governance to determine when new projects can be approved. It is also used for execution of the project to create the schedule and tracking of milestones. Portfolios is also used to understand and track resource capacity.

We are currently in the process of evaluating but so far Planview seems to fit our needs the best. Portfolios was selected prior to me joining the team.

The use of Planview started with our R&D organization. It has expanded to other parts of the business organically because they have seen the value in the system.

1700 - Used cross functionally across the business (R&D, Supply Chain and Commercial)
3 - We have 3 people support full time and several other users that support as part of their function. Utilize a process in which we have business process owners that work with the Planview Admin team.

Yes - This was done prior to me coming into the role but know it replaced Clarity.

Using Planview Portfolios

There is a learning curve that needs to be overcome for new and occasional users. Need to clearly training users on how to filter the data with "Portfolio's"
