Use Cases and Deployment Scope

AdaptiveWork is used to manage enterprise-level projects and initiatives that are cross-team and cross-LOB in nature. It helps to keep everyone on the same page with respect to what projects are currently underway and which are planned for the future.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Has a visually appealing UI that is easy to learn and navigate
Allows for deep customization, enabling organizations to modify it for their own unique needs
Integrates well with third party tools (ie. Jira) as well as other Planview products

Cons

Project ownership is difficult to manage when it is split between multiple teams/users
Resource management modules are difficult to utilize due to relatively limited functionality.
When multiple users are editing the same project, it can sometimes be difficult to not overwrite one another

Return on Investment

Keeps multiple stakeholders informed and up to date
Reduces costs associated with ineffective communication and lack of transparency
Speeds up project completion time since everyone is working in sync

Configurability

We have set up the platform so that each operating division has a separate 'piece of the pie.' They are able to provide updates and timelines on their specific portion but also leave the overarching project untouched. This has facilitated communication within teams, without slowing down the overall project.

Dashboard and Reporting

Yes, we report on a weekly basis the status of projects, completion times, and other project-focused metrics using the dashboard templates that are out of the box.

Integrations

We integrate Jira so that we can utilize Jira's excellent agile tools in tandem with bigger-picture project planning in AdaptiveWork

Process Improvement

AdaptiveWork has made our organization more agile and able to juggle multiple large projects at the same time. It provides an excellent platform for collaboration and transparency across the org

Customer Impact

Faster completion of projects means faster turnaround time for customers. Since we are able to increase completion speed while maintaining quality, this has resulted in much improved customer experiences
