Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
I think ease of use. The app itself is really nice. Community is like an internal Facebook page so our employees can stay connected. It's definitely one of the highlights of the product, its community. We use it for payroll surveys and community timecards.
Pros
- I think payroll processing is very easy, straightforward. Updating employee information is not difficult. The self-service portal is pretty user-friendly, so we're working with a variety of employees and most can use the app. No problem.
Cons
- I think a lot of HRIS, it comes back to timeliness of responses. So sometimes when you email service at Paylocity or maybe sometimes you feel like you want a direct contact, even though I understand it has to go to a general inbox.
- I think data-driven decision making. I love the data insights. That's something that we use very often and actually our finance team utilizes that too. And I just think timeliness of payroll processing, things like that.
I think for myself, I was a team of one for a long time, so I just kind of did it all. But becoming a team of two, it allowed me to be able to train someone pretty easily on payroll and different processes that we have in place without it being painful. It was easy.
I'll go back to community. Being able to do impressions, that's huge to keep people engaged. It's another way to thank people without having to have a monetary value associated with it. You're just peer to peer versus having to say, okay, you're doing a gift card or writing a thank you card. It's a way to do it more virtually across the company.
I believe we used Paycom, but I was not with the company when they used something other than Paylocity. My prior employer used ADP and I like Paylocity better. Think it's just the ease of use, the app itself. This was back in 2019, but I don't remember using an app with ADP. So that's definitely what set Paylocity apart from the get go.
