Overall Satisfaction with OneCause
We have used OneCause for a couple of our events, we love the Text to Donate feature. The online auction and ticketing software is very easy to use. We had our volunteers up and running in a matter of minutes after a quick training. The OneCause phone support is out of this world. I have had to call on several occasions to ask questions and every person has been very friendly and knowledgable. It is amazing to speak directly to someone who can quickly address an issue you are having. Our paid night of event support knew that we had a major storm rolling just as our golf carts were rolling out to their first holes which then thru our entire outdoor event off. She quickly took over on the backside sending emails/texts that we were starting late due to the weather, while I helped the team of volunteers move everything we had just gotten set up outside and moved it inside. It could have been a disaster, but she knew I was busy tackling other issues so she went into our event to help. It was great to not have to worry about everything.
Pros
- Support Staff
- Ease of Set-Up/Creation
- App for self check in
- Reports - I almost think there are too many!
Cons
- An Event Delete Option - We created an event that we didn't have and I can't seem to remove it
- Ability to upload more photos verus saving them to a google drive and using the link
- Can't think of anything right now, but I am sure there are a couple of other things on my wish list
- When we started with a simple Text to Donate campaign we saw huge number of new donors. Now we put our Text to Donate on almost all our collateral
- The Live Auction Section is great. For 2 events now we have had to on the spot duplicate a Live Auction Item and it was smooth as butter.
We had used GiveSmart in the past and had issues with connectivity during our event, when our contract was up we decided to investigate other platforms, we looked at more than just those 3, but can't recall the others. Givebutter - I absolutely LOVE Givebutter, so simple to use, but it does not offer an auction component and we didn't want to have 2 different systems to use. Classy - this platform seemed nice but extremely pricy and we still had to do "add-ons". We could not afford it. We went with OneCause in the end because of the simplicity, and training provided and wanted to give the product a try over sticking with GiveSmart. We are so happy to have made the switch.

Using OneCause
2 - Marketing and our founder are the only 2 with access to the system, our ED is not usually involved in the events at the same level as the founder and I.
I am the only one that supports OneCause, I create the event and build the sites. I would say with the help of the OneCause support team we have been successful in producing great campaigns. Thank you to the Team for your continuous help!
- Text to donate
- event ticketing
- event auction
- event platform
- Used it for an out door market versus our website so people could pay on their phones easier.
- I really don't know at this time
Evaluating OneCause and Competitors
Yes - We had used GiveSmart in the past and honestly after reviewing different platforms when our contract was up, we liked what OneCause had to offer and their support team seemed unparalleled. We are happy we made the switch. I didn't know much about GiveSmart and didn't help build out the site was kinda just like here it is. Nothing against GiveSmart it was on my end. I think helping build from the ground up makes us happier with OneCause.
- Ease of Use
The set-up of the event/ticketing/auction was so SIMPLE.
I think the only thing I would do differently is actually build out a mini test site, look at all the reports and think what did I actually need. Some of what OneCause offered in reporting was way more info than we needed, but it actually was sometime hard to find a report that fit my needs. I would like if you could actually build a report that contained what you wanted.
OneCause Implementation
- Implemented in-house
- I don't feel like we had issues, we are a small team of 3

We had premium support for our first major event using OneCause since it was our first time using the platform and I was so thankful we did. We were hosting a 2 part event - 1st a golf event followed by a party. There were 2 different tickets because you didn't have to golf to go to the party. Just as our golfers were heading out it started to storm, our after party was outdoors. We had to rush and move everything that was set up and ready for the afterparty. Our premium support took over as we were all hands on deck. She started texting out about the delay and then moved the time line to accommodate. My MacBook was used for the slide show and then I was not able to log our live auction winners and she handled it all. It was well worth it.
Well, I think if you look at my answer to the previous question about premium support you will see my answer to this one too! But here it is again.

- Ticket set-up

Yes - We found the mobile was much easier to work with the night of the event than the web version. The ability to log it onto anyone's phone to help was a huge timesaver and didn't have to worry about creating multiple user accounts. The volunteers found it super simple as well. Definately download the mobile app
