Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro for many use cases: - we use it for planning, from keeping our roadmap to handling daily plannification - we use it for creating architectural diagrams to keep our systems well documented - we also use it for sprint retrospectives to get feedback from the team in a very interactive way.

Pros

  • Create diagrams.
  • The integration with external apps.
  • Edit in collaboration.

Cons

  • Better Jira integration (and bulk editing).
  • Better way to manage imported icons (like some custom icon sets).
  • Better frames to group stickers or icons.
  • A way to group multiple elements into custom figures.
  • Improved productivity.
  • Better communication.
I only use Jira integration, which works super well for me. The only drawbacks for me are: - bulk editing (it doesn't have bulk editing, and I really miss that) - keeping the entire board in sync (instead of relying on parameters, custom fields, and filters for keeping track of new tickets).
As explained, we use it for several use cases: - Keep planification and keep it as a central place for shared initiatives where we can not only see related Jira tickets but also plan more dynamically with sticky notes - Share feedback inside teams, between teams, and also for postmortems - Keep documentation. We use it to document our architecture, share architectural diagrams, and use them for meetings.
I think Miro is far from the competition I used to work with. Also, to be honest, I didn't use too many other tools for the same purpose I used Miro. But there are some use cases that I can guarantee I cannot use these other tools for, like the planning one, since I will need an integration with Jira that they didn't have, at least when I was working with those tools. It's been more than five years using only Miro.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

As a manager, it has become a critical piece of my day-to-day operations, from managing planning to managing different initiatives, handling meetings with my team, and having good documentation of what we have in progress. Also, as said on other points, the ability to integrate with external tools is key for me.
