Overall Satisfaction with M1

The components used by my organization are mainly the built-in payroll capabilities, CRM, Order management and Accounting. Basically we needed an ERP to reduce the operation costs and improve the efficiency. Backoffice and customer management was the first that needed attention. Lack of integration was one the key motivators for M1.

Pros

  • Order Management
  • Accounting Processes
  • Sales Order Management

Cons

  • System customization
  • Localization GAPS
  • Customer Support
  • Time Savings
  • Cost Savings
  • Improved Operational Efficiency
I think there is a weak point in the M1. Customizations are challenging to implement without coding knowledge. There is no low-code features to save time when an custom functionality needs to be implemented. If your company needs a lot of enhancements/customizations it may not be the right software. Expect some effort in coding.
Dashboards on the start screen are great to monitor daily activities. While most ERP implementations require significant work, the visual nature of M1 really helped us keep the project on track and implement the required analytics requirements. One of the key positive points is the Lead Management that provides accurate information to determine which marketing activities are most suitable to your business. Expected revenue and costs are assigned to each program, providing you with statistical analysis on each program.
We do not use
Our customization requirements were not that high and based on a price/cost benefit M1 was the winner. SAP was considered but the upfront costs and challenging learning curve together with the lack of flexibility in the SAP HANA public cloud version made the M1 choice more natural. SAP Services is usually more expensive compared to M1.

Do you think M1 delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with M1's feature set?

Yes

Did M1 live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of M1 go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy M1 again?

Yes

The M1 ERP is tailored for small to medium organizations, offering good features at least in the components utilized by my organization such as customizable workflows, user-friendly dashboards, ability to process orders, and track the entire orders lifecycle. It also has good customer interaction features in the CRM part. It provides robust data security, and offers scalable modules to grow with your business. Implementation is not challenging if you don't have so many customizations in the software.
