Best prototyping software on the market
Overall Satisfaction with Figma
I use Figma to produce website wireframes, design systems, and website designs. I work with a small team of other UI/UX designers so we routinely need to share assets on various projects. We switched to Figma from Adobe XD because their asset-sharing libraries work well. In addition to that, our development team prefers how Figma can export assets and CSS styles during handoff.
Pros
- Sharing assets within a team in way that automatically updates whenever changes are made
- Auto-layout makes creating responsive layouts easy
- Components makes converting wireframes to full designs quicker and easier
Cons
- Figma could be better at allowing users to create responsive layouts at various breakpoints
- Managing team permissions between drafts and projects takes a bit to get used to
- Mocking up full width images on desktop is a bit clunky
- Figma has sped up our web design and development process by allowing us to complete wireframes and prototypes in a few days as opposed to weeks.
- Figma has made us more competitive with freelancers and smaller agencies.
- Familiarity with Figma has been a deciding factor in winning new projects.
