Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
We use it inside our design studio team. All projects are on Dropbox, and all work is done on it. We replaced using a proprietary server with Dropbox due to speed issues with the server when working from home. Unfortunately, Dropbox has had a bug for years now that requires every file to be manually synched from Mac Finder, whilst when we acquired the product, it would synchronize files automatically from third-party programs (Adobe Cloud). We are considering switching to Google Cloud, but the effort of changing many terabytes of data over has been a blocker.
Pros
- Speed for home office.
Cons
- Synching issue.
- Too expensive.
- Offboarding process and migration of files is a hassle.
On my last test, synching on Dropbox was faster than Google Drive, but the price was much higher. Google Drive gives access to a suite of tools that Dropbox doesn’t.
