Cvent Event Management a Clear Winner in the Space - For a Price
Overall Satisfaction with Cvent Event Management
Cvent is used by our marketing department, as well as key staff on our sales team. This event management system allows us to manage the full lifecycle of our events and integrate the data with our Salesforce CRM. Cvent's nimble platform allowed us to quickly pivot from in-person to virtual events in early 2020, and execute triple the amount of events as usual, and also integrate Zoom into the platform. In fact, we were Cvent's first native Zoom integration client.
Pros
- Event landing pages are fully customizeable with your company branding, and the latest version of the landing page creation tool, "Flex", is a true WYSIWYG tool, requiring no HTML coding knowledge.
- There is a robust survey tool add-on, Inquisium, which allows you to survey your attendees, and even sync their responses to your CRM.
- Contacts/invitees functionality is very robust. You can easily track who you've sent event invitations to, whether they've opened the invite, registered, declined, etc. And you can sync this data to Salesforce Contacts and Salesforce Campaigns to make it easy for your sales team to see who has registered (without having to constantly ask you!).
- There's a robust venue sourcing and RFP tool integrated in the system!
- Cvent can be integrated with Zoom for a seamless experience for webinar attendees.
Cons
- So many modules or functions are "add-ons".
- Subscription prices have creeped up over time.
- Per person registration can be very expensive over time.
- They need to do a better job of allowing clients to report on ANY data points.
- Automation of manual tasks
- Better visibility to attendee analytics
- Attendee invitation/registration/event experience
- This solution helps our event manager work smarter, not harder, and optimize her time.
- This solution really is a full lifecycle, out-of-the-box solution that is an extremely valuable planning and logistics tool.
- Can you tie actual ROI to it? Probably not. But you can make the case that it allows your sales team to have better actionable data, thereby resulting in future inked deals and therefore, ROI.
No contest and not apples to apples. However, Cvent is much more expensive. I am aware of other solutions that seem to be making a splash, but I have yet to research them and compare them to Cvent. Cvent truly is the "Cadillac" of event management software. If budget is not an issue, or if your organization understands that an investment in truly robust event management software has value (consider it half of an FTE), Cvent is a great solution.
