Airtable makes simple, shared table management a breeze
Overall Satisfaction with Airtable
We are using this tool primarily as a fast prototyping tool for solving simple database and data collection problems in administering our development. For example, we have mocked up a new project portfolio where we capture project requests before they go through the prioritization process.
I am also using it privately as a shared repository for maintaining data with groups of people.

Pros
- Fast development of databases either from scratch or from a spreadsheet
- Allowing groups of users to maintain a shared database in a structured manner
- Simplified handling of relational tables
Cons
- Would be nice to have a rich text field for formatted text
- API powerful for editing but is limited when one is trying to retrieve table meta data
- Pricing model quick jumps in expense when sharing even the simplest data with a small group of people
- Unfortunately we have not used this tool enough to really provide a response to the question. As a prototyping tool, however, it has helped to turn provide simple and quick solutions rather than needing to resort to other data collection methods.
These other tools were comparable and also feature rich. For our use-cases the simplicity and rapid prototyping make Airtable a better fit.
