Overall Satisfaction with Absorb LMS

We needed a platform for our employees, contractors and external users to consume training (both created by us, purchased and uploaded, linked to LinkedIn Learning). We needed the ability to define who could access what training, ability to assign courses broadly or narrowly, auto assign content and be able to report on usage. We needed a platform that would allow us to time or "date" stamp training to ensure our training is up to date. We vetted 6 systems in our "short list" and Absorb LMS was hands down the favorite for ability to create, contain, assign and report!

Pros

  • User friendly for all levels (Learner, manager, administrator and creator)
  • Creation of content- amazing functionality and customization
  • Customization of courses in levels, assignments, department, title, dates available
  • Customer Support- this is their super power!

Cons

  • Reporting could be better- ability to automate report to update on dashboard, ability to ask "give me top 3 courses" rather than have to define each course
  • Ability for managers to view indirect reports and assign them courses- it looks as if the functionality is there but it's not.
  • Initial training- it's really more of overview; lead users to Absorb Academy- much more useful.
  • Our learner engagement went from 20% to over 80%
  • Our team want to create content- subject matter experts are not afraid of the system
  • Our ability to target learning paths by team or discipline is amazing

The platform is just a joy to use whether for external customers or internal team. Engagement allows for varied experiences. Reporting could be a bit better but its robust compared to our prior system and functionality is 1000x greater. We have teams that want to create, we have managers who insist on greater onboarding experiences for new employees- we can meet that need now!
We LOVE our Customer Success Manager. She's been invaluable in our implementation and adoption (both as admins and creators). She works through questions or "can we..." scenarios and will reach out with ideas. She always wants to meet our need and exceed our expectation. She has been as much a part of the success of early adoption as the platform.
hands down favorite in look, function, cost and service. Others were close but could not meet our external and internal cases. Our current one (we looked at them again) did not have 40% of the functionality or value, despite the bargain cost, it was not worth it to continue. Only new hires used our LMS for onboarding because they had to; no one went back for more training. With Absorb our classes are more dynamic and targeted.

It's our platform for 10 country almost 700 people in multiple time zones. The platform allows managers to assign and check progress of team. We can create content tailored to a product we sell or a team's deliverables. We can leverage APIs to our HRIS system or LinkedIn Learning making more automatic interface. We can create content in the system or upload into the system.
