What is WatchGuard Network Security?

The WatchGuard Firebox family of firewalls offers critical network security solutions for businesses of all types and sizes, including tabletop and 1U rack-mounted appliances to Cloud and virtual firewalls. Firebox appliances deliver critical security services from standard IPS, URL filtering, gateway AV, application control, and antispam, to advanced protections such as file sandboxing, and DNS filtering. High-performance deep packet inspection (DPI) means users can leverage these security services against attacks attempting to hide in encrypted channels like HTTPS. Additionally, every Firebox offers SD-WAN right out of the box for improved network resiliency and performance.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

  • The most important for us is the uninterruptible access provided by clusters as we have roaming users all over the world that heavily depend on data access for business.
  • The price is very right-sized, for example, having an active/passive cluster needs only one total security license to cover the cluster, not 2 such as other well-known companies.
  • Old devices, no longer supported, could be used for "light security" such as internal routers with great firewalling, NAT, and so on.
  • Once you have one, there's no learning curve if you change models, physical or virtual, all use the same interface and work the same.
  • A negative point is that I don't know how the support handles issues, as I have had none in 15 years.

  • The truth is excellent when workers needed to work from home the VPN connection was very stable.

  • Improved security and awareness of traffic within the company. Greater traffic control and management. The impact is certainly positive and the return on investment is immediate if you think about achieving the certification objectives (GDPR, NIS, NIS2, ISO27000 etc.)

  • At our parent organization, we completely switched from Cisco Meraki to WatchGuard Network Security Fireboxes, which gave us better control as well as better ROI for features. We replaced 5 Meraki Security Appliances with WG Fireboxes
  • There are several more models and licensing options that allow us to taylor fit a unit to each of our customers. We've deployed 11 devices in the past 2 years.
  • As stated in previous questions, I wish that I was aware of a competitive Non-Profit program.

  • Web Blocking keeps my users safe. and allows me to block time wasting sites..
  • WatchGuard is our first line of defence, we saw multiple RDP attacks on PCS through our previous Firewall, the WatchGuard stopped them dead in their tracks.
  • setting a bypass password for newly registered websites as well as some other categories allows users to think twice after they have clicked a link.

  • Our system was able to allow 100% remote access for our 150 users over IKE VPN during the onset of COVID.
  • New device configuration is typically easy to implement using past configuration files as templates.
  • The use of clustered firewalls significantly reduces downtime during maintenance operations.
