We're writing a Risk Management book and were using another "mapping" tool. We switched to MindManager so the content of the maps can be exported in outline form for writing the chapter content. MM allows us to collect all the references with URL, add pictures, build detailed outlines and export all the wit MSFT Word
When one uses MindManager structurally one is able to do more in less time since all info is structurer and easily accessible.
Especially knowing where to look for info saves time.

MindManager: A Fifteen year view
Nearly all of the projects I've contracted started some time before I engaged. MindManager gave me a core tool to capture their initial requirements, attach documents they already had and were using, put numbers and dates to my preliminary plan, and make my presentations fold into what they were already doing much better than I could with a simple project plan.
Describing activities and the associated individual actions is very simple and can be easily explained to third parties.Organizing your own thoughts or collecting arguments contributes to better decisions.The structural approach to conducting training courses is quick and easy to achieve using MindManager.

MM review
I saved time and effort by going "around the watercooler" level discussion to formal documentation of business related processes, products, etc. in a more collaborative environment where concurrence usually slows things like new product development down to a crawl. The positive visual impact gained by walking through a map is something to take advantage of from the very beginning.

Not benefited. Too difficult to use such capabilities. Not seen when you create a map. The software should prompt such capabilities.

A lifetime of use
Finding patterns in user complaints, ERP implementation project management, strategic planning.
Because you can insert attachments and hyperlinks into the mindmaps you can have a multi-media document with images, text from other documents and even webpage links. Because you can link one mindmap to many other mindmaps it is very easy to have an overview document that then links to deep dives into the details in other mindmaps while all the time keeping each one up to date with changes in the other mindmap.
One use I hadn't expected was with a timeline template that proved invaluable in winning a court case because the timeline was clear, logical and detailed with all the supporting documentation.

Good but expensive.
I did not know it was able to do that. I’ll take a look again.
I have collected requirements from different international frameworks in a mindmap and then tagged the requirements with different categories. Then I can filter and visualize requirements applicable to different scenarios. The tailored requirements have saved a lot of time in the organization.
- MM helps you structure your information on the spot. You then can easily restructure it afterwards.
- MM is a great support in writing. In stead of starting to write, you start entering single words in a mindmap. Every day you work further on your mindmap. Only when you are completely happy with it, you start converting the leaves to sentences, the sentences to paragraphs, etc.
- With the right macro's you can completely invert a mindmap within seconds.

Bitter/Sweet: I love it but I can't share it.
MIndManager helped me to go from idea to project including the relevant documentation. I was able to present ideas with their respective details and it helped to loosen up minds to see more than they thought they could.
In a real estate development projct we could identify all the stakeholders and assign responsibilities in an organigram. This same mindmap was used to setup action plans and project plans and could be used to monitor the whole project.

MindManager is a great tool for thinkers
MindManager is very useful when everyone in a team uses it.
I always use MindManager to break out project WBS to a visually clear vision. I use the relationship links for inter dependencies, I then tend to export to MS Project to add resources, durations and dates
We have created 700+ maps that cover the gamut of possibilities:
- Process Mapping
- Information Management
- Task and project tracking
- IT Strategic Planning
- Concept development
- Visualization graphic development
While in HR, I set up Org Charts to enable me to manage each group appropriately. If you are a visual learner (and not everyone is), that is great for reviewing operations and planning any changes.
I have mind-mapped for years. I won't give any examples except to say I apply it to any project or idea that I need to break down into smaller pieces so that I can visually organize those pieces, see their relationships, and either present the map directly to a client or use myself for the creation of content, whether for myself or a client. I know this is meant as a business product, but I use it even more often for personal projects.
With a fully-stretched schedule, MindManager is the only way I seem to be able to keep all the info together in a meaningful format. It is the only tool that works as fast as my brain.

Engineering with MindManager
As am example - a large steel multicomponent product - Take the CAD model and generate a Bill of Material in excel format within SOLIDWORKS. Pull that data into MM and then organize as purchased part; flat steel then needs to be cut - laser/plasma/saw; is it then bent? or drilled? or primed?
Each one of these answers is in the form of a TAG, a tag that can be filtered, e.g., filter all 4mm steel plate - MM topic shows dimensions, weight, small 2D drawings including where it belongs in its subassembly. This then gets transmitted via HTML file to design engineers / procurement / other
