I like Asana’s user-friendly interface and seamless integration with other tools like Slack and Outlook.One unique feature is how it handles portfolios, projects, tasks, and subtasks. This is achieved through its graphical presentation and multihoming capabilities, which is particularly useful for large teams. If you’re coming from an Excel spreadsheet background, this feature will be a game-changer.We use Asana for various purposes, including work planning, vendor management, and general project management.I took a deep dive into the software about a year ago and recently became an Asana ambassador!

Individuals and specific departments utilize Asana to track both individual and group tasks and projects. We haven't used it beyond basic task management. We also use the free version, so we don't have access to their full range of tools. Overall, it has served us well and is easy to use.

Pros

Allows group collaboration.
Ease of creating tasks from email.
Recurring task creation and management.

Cons

More robust recurrence options, ie, the last Monday of each month (rather than only the 4th Monday of each month).
Ability to see subtasks in "my tasks" view.

Many of our ministry departments find Asana particularly helpful for both individual and group tasks and projects. Collaboration is an Asana strength. We use the free version, so we don't have access to all that they offer, but we have been satisfied with what we do have. It is intuitive and easy to use.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Asana to fulfill work order. A form connects to Asana to create a work order. We are then able to assign the work order to an individual based on the level of importance/work they have. Asana allows us to see what tasks everyone is working on, making it easier to assign new tasks to individuals with a lighter work load. This product addressed easy workflow updates, tracking of previous tasks/work orders, and a central place to put new ideas.

I utilized Asana while working as a Sales Content Specialist for Google Sales Hub. Asana was perfect for organizing workflows and tasks across the national team as it allowed us to sync on workflows and tasks without moving our schedules or sacrificing individuals early mornings or late evenings. Additionally, the different boards and access settings makes it the perfect platform when designing new workflow models.

Since theirs an app, Asana works great at keeping people connected and in the loop

Cons

The price of Asana is by individuals, so it can get a little pricey. If they had bundle for their pricing that would work a whole lot better.
There is a little learning curve with Asana, since it allows you so much customization, but the platform does a good job of supplying resources and FAQs to help you.

While I love Asana and the usability, this might not be the best choice financially for a large company. Especially if you're only using it for task management.

We are currently using Asana in our entire organization as a project management tool. It has worked very well, and organizing all our tasks has never been easier, and knowing what we have to do next in our priority list is possible thanks to this tool. It has improved a lot of areas in our organization such as productivity and organization, and because it's customizable, we have been able to make it feel like it's a tool that fully caters to us.

Pros

I like that the way the projects are displayed makes it easy to visualize them and work in each one without needing to do many steps, just a few clicks and you're in a different project. It's specially good for me and my team who are constantly working on multiple projects and like to be able to complete multiple tasks that don't usually belong in the same place.
When completing my tasks, I absolutely love the feature where you can automatically sort them with customizable actions, saving me so much time.
The calendar tool is beneficial in allowing me to plan ahead of time many tasks and meetings in our team, it helps me avoid mistakes in scheduling and it allows me to change any meetings with the drag and drop function, and assign them to team members.

Cons

The price of this software is quite high considering we have many team members which need to be using Asana, so each time a member is added the price increases. I definitely think that they could offer better pricing options for those who don't use the entirety of the features offered in Asana.
I wouldn't classify Asana to be easy to use in the beginning, the implementation process took a lot of time for me and it was quite overwhelming, and even though some things are easy to learn to use, majority of it has a learning curve, but honestly, it's worth it to take the time to learn each feature and what it does if you want to get better results in your projects and workflow.

I think that it would be great for people who are constantly on the move and switching devices, since it has allowed me to work from my phone, too. We use this for daily and project management across teams. We monitor all the projects we're working on, tracking the status and using the comments feature to flag delays etc. As a large team, we leverage it for capacity management, campaign management and daily task focus. This allows us to see who is working on what, and all staying on top of work that we're shipping. Asana is a great task management tool, with varying levels of detail that you can decide how to use - tags, etc. It's a great way to turn something complex into something easily understandable.

We use it for all our marketing organization and AB testing roadmaps. We also use it to organize people's work and keep teams up to date on current updates with specific projects and other things.

Pros

Organization is great - and each project works very well.
Team status updates are very helpful.
Submission forms are very useful and help us loads.

Cons

There aren't any ticket numbers to reference in other places.
Email correspondence/aggregates/updates aren't always very helpful.
