Likelihood to Recommend Iterable is great for email marketers that are not advanced/technical in emails. They made it very simple to create emails and run campaigns. Everything about Iterable is very easy - from creating emails with drag and drop functionality, segmenting and creating send lists, and even setting up a journey. The only downside with Iterable is that it's mainly meant for larger companies. There are better platforms if you're using email in a very simple way.
Read full review The reason it's not a seven or above is purely because of the timing of a solution we had requested originally back in August 2023. It's now February 2024, and we're waiting for a wow-factor pitch deck. Previously, we only received a demo recording and an order form quote. These truthfully aren't helpful enough to convince and sway our senior leaders into spending the $35k+ investment into the PMC.
Read full review Pros It makes designing and deploying great looking emails easy with their drag-and-drop technology and framework. Iterable allows for great customization and time-saving with the use of their handlebar snippets. This has revolutionized how we are able to monetize our editorial audiences using clear logic that helps us get the most for each of our conversion efforts. The various ways that you can run and view reports is incredibly helpful, and easy to customize. This means we can find most of the data we want and need across our various departments with their differing goals without having to piecemeal together crazy solutions or waste time reinventing the wheel. Read full review Personalization: It allows us to create highly personalized direct mail pieces tailored to individual recipients. For instance, we can include the recipient's name, relevant product recommendations, or even custom images that resonate with their preferences. Multi-Channel Integration: The platform seamlessly integrates with our existing digital marketing tools and CRM systems. It enables us to orchestrate cohesive campaigns that combine email, social media, and direct mail to reach our target audience through multiple touchpoints. Automated Workflows: PFL offers robust automation capabilities, streamlining the entire direct mail process. We can set triggers, such as website visits or email engagement, to automatically trigger the sending of personalized direct mail pieces, ensuring timely and relevant outreach. Variable Data Printing: The platform simplifies variable data printing, enabling us to print custom content for each recipient efficiently. This is particularly useful for A/B testing different messaging or designs within a single campaign. Read full review Cons Some of Iterable's user interface in Journey is a little confusing. This is a personal preference. Their image uploading is very basic - but they are working on releasing a new version soon. It's difficult to look up a specific contact by only being able to search their email. I wish I could search by name without having to use segmentation Read full review There is no built-in functionality to automate direct mail; this has to be created through triggers in Salesforce. The sales cloud integration didn't give us the syncing or reporting we thought would be available. We would like to see more support from team members in the post-onboarding process. Read full review I will continue to use the platform as long as my employer provides access, but I do not have purchasing power myself.
Read full review Usability Iterable very easy to learn and use. It's a great platform for both a new email marketer and a marketer that's been working in email for 20+ years.
Read full review The UI is friendly, clear, and accessible, and I access it directly through the interface (Salesforce) that I perform my function in every day. It is intuitive to navigate, and I am able to find most functionalities I need without the need to consult an admin and/or support teams.
Read full review Reliability and Availability Iterable is there like 99.9% of the time. However, when it goes down, it grinds us to a halt. Most of the time, outages are an hour or less, but if that's at a peak time, it can be a nightmare. That said, when the worst does happen, there are frequent updates and an easy situation tracker that give you an estimate of how much longer you'll have to wait for the issue to be resolved.
Read full review Performance The API is super quick. The UI can be a little sluggish depending on what you're loading, but overall Iterable performs great. Iterable appears to do a good job of making processes async so that one action isn't blocking another.
Read full review Support Rating I've never experienced any issues with Iterable. As I and my colleagues have learnt the system and it's features, response to questions and advice from our account manager is always quick. Kevin knows the product well, and with the few tricky questions has hasn't been able to answer he's been quick to get back to us.
Read full review Only thing holding me back from a perfect 10 would be the timelines for involving the technical team on occasion. There have been a few times where the PFL technical support team has been booked up for days or more than a week out which can delay our project timelines. This doesn't happen often, let me be clear. But when it does, it's usually at the worst time for our campaigns.
Read full review Alternatives Considered The visualization tools in iterable for creating journeys are so much easier to use and adjust than in
Marketo , Mailgun, or Mailjet. We have better performance metrics tracking in particular than in Mailjet or
Marketo . It is also easier to see where we have made mistakes in emails and to adjust the code visually than in any of the other platforms
Read full review JourneyMail is one I have evaluated. It did not seem as full featured as PFL Direct Mail Platform, nor did it integrate with the rest of the Salesforce products like PFL Direct Mail Platform (journeymail ONLY integrates to marketing cloud). My customers tend to be cross-cloud and own multiple products and want solutions that can integrate across their stack easily.
Read full review Scalability We've never run into any issues with volume. Iterable is always able to handle everything we throw at it. We utilize webhooks and emails. Both perform very well. Webhooks actually perform too quickly and downstream systems need to be able to handle the volume throughput that Iterable can send.
Read full review It does take a while to launch or re-launch a campaign, which can make it difficult to pivot quickly. However, if you're integrated with Marketo, then PFL is as scalable as your database and marketing strategy! The sky is the limit in terms of creativity. Post launch, the program is hands-off apart from report monitoring and potential optimization tweaks.
Read full review Return on Investment This is a hard thing to qualify with the short amount of time we have had on the platform and with the changes that have occurred since onboarding. iOS 15 was released, so we are learning new ways of measuring the ROI. The ease of integration with other tools has helped us begin to break into more personalized emails for our customers. We have really only scratched the surface and have so much farther to go! Read full review We've sometimes struggled to maintain a positive ROI due to some issues with packages not arriving, arriving broken, or including the wrong items.
