I use xpert HR to ensure i am following legal compliance for each state as we have employees all over the US. I recently used expert HR to research a presentation topic and there were so many articles i did not expect to be on the platform. I personally have not yet ran into any problems with the site.

  • articles on topics i run into for employee situations
  • sometimes it takes me a while to find the correct guidance on how long a non resident can work remotely from a different state before having to pay that states taxes
  • Loading the web page takes a while but that may be our internet
  • I would like to see the home page be more personalized
Xpert HR is well suited for HR professionals. I do not see it being a heavily used resource outside of HR. When i was researching a presentation topic, i enjoyed how many articles i found that gave very detailed information regarding the topic i was presenting on. I do feel like when i need a quick answer, Xpert HR is not always my first resource because I do tend to have to do some digging to find the answer i need on the site.
  • This has saved time by designating each HR memeber as a SME for different regions we can use the state feature to look up our state
  • the current development and recently implemented box at the top of the state page is a quick resource to check if out SME states have any updates
  • Overall it has saved time on research and cost by not always having to reach out to the legal team for answers
Xpert HR heavily impacts our compliance by ensuring we are following compliance when letting employees work remotely from another state, looking up if we can withold company equipment during a term, and how long we have to give them their final paycheck. When employees ask very specific questions i can typically search phrases and receive guidance.
It has helped our HR generalists be more independent in their role because we can look here for the answers instead of always having to reach out to our direct manager for help. The email updates always ensure we are up to date on any changes and keeping us in compliance.
We also use SHRM but i do not use that platform as much i really only use that site for articles. I personally am not aware of any other software that we use. I believe upper management has acccess to more than the generalits to. I was not in the decision making process

Our HR team uses Xpert HR to learn more about the regions we support, employment laws, and staying up to date with any legal changes we need to be aware of for states we are responsible for. We also check Xpert HR when we come across a new situation and use articles as reference.

I use it for policies, line manager training and letter templates. It has helped us to implement up to date and consistent policies, all in same format and can easily be adjusted to suit your own business.

  • XPert HR works brilliantly for UK but we were disapointed in their offering for UAE
I just use it as my HR bible as it is always up to date. There is a wealth of policies. The template letters are easily adapted and easy to use - all are legally compliant and available quickly. There is a catalogue of basic training available in both word and powerpoint formats.

It made it easy for me to update policies and process. Quick way of having letters ready for employee relations matters. It has enabled us to implement consistency across the business with clear, conscise guidance for our employees, and empowering managers to improve the management skills on people matters.
It has helped me implement flexibility policies, develop the L & D available to line managers and upskill them to better manager ER issues. The regular updates give me useful information on employment legislation and tribunal cases as well as information on reward, recognition and workplace culture.
CIPD HR inform - it is just not as well developed and easy to use as XPert HR

XpertHR is my go-to source of information on a wide range of HR related topics. As well as a valuable tool for policy updates and line manager process flows, we are often asked to benchmark various benefits. Being able to use your surveys to find out other organisations' benefits, reward offerings, pension contributions to name but a few is very useful and allows us to be able to give back valuable information to senior management.

Working for a non-profit charitable organisation, budget is important and so is how we spend our funding. As a result we regularly review our supplier products. When XpertHR comes up for internal review, I look at all the other similar products available and none of them come close - they are either not comprehensive enough at all for what we need, or they are over-priced for what you get. It has the right mix of updated information, benchmarking and workflows which mean quality for a good price.
  • No need for policies to have any legal review - we manage this in house and save on costs
  • There is enough benchmarking information in XpertHR to enable us to compare ourselves to other organisations at no extra cost
  • The legal updates prompt us to review policies in plenty of time and save us having to find out what these are from elsewhere - the business is then aware in good time and can prepare for change
Before we had XpertHR we had an outdated set of policies which were not always fit for purpose. Gradually we reviewed and amended all of them on XpertHR's guidance. Now we have robust policies and processes in place that are reviewed and updated regularly and we add value by aligning them to business need. The added advantage is that we remain legally compliant.
As before, it has given us the ability to create a robust set of processes and procedures which we align to business need.
I found HR Inform not comprehensive enough for our needs and Croner was very expensive. I also did not feel that despite the cost, Croner was detailed enough and I found the library/documents section lacking.

I have done a desktop review probably 3 times since I purchased XpertHR and on all three occasions I reviewed it against ease of use, availability of comprehensive and updated information and value for money. On all of these occasions XpertHR was the winner.

I have used XpertHR in the business since I joined in 2009. The product covers a wide range of HR tools. Mainly, I use the site for law updates to ensure I am keeping my CPD up to date. I also frequently make use of the Legal Advice which is quick and user friendly to access. I also frequently use the site for document templates. These cover every topic that you can think of needing in HR from policies to template letters. You can easily edit and adapt them to your needs but, they take the time and effort away from needing to draft them from scratch and gives you the confidence you are compliant. I often engage with the surveys as the benchmark data is fantastic for KPI's and assessing business performance against the market place. My only feedback is the search function can be clunky but, there are ways round this in terms of process work flows so you can always find a way to easily source the information you need. As a HR professional I would highly recommend XpertHR!

As previously mentioned, the legal advice is great. Sometimes we can all second guess ourselves and so being able to quickly ask for clarity or validation on a simple HR legal matter is great. The response time is usually within an hour. I've used the templates to create and update our policies. For instance when GDPR was introduced I was able to update all policies to reflect this and also quickly create a Privacy Policy that was legally compliant. It takes the time out of such tasks and create efficiencies.

XpertHR means that we can react to change driven by legal updates and case law quickly and efficiently. This ensures that we are compliant at all times. The legal updates ensure that I am educated as a HR professional and therefore the advice I am providing is accurate and fair.
We regularly review KPI's such as absence, turnover, HR ratio's etc. We are able to develop our HR strategy around trends that impact the business. We use the data contained within XpertHR to benchmark ourselves and develop strategies around this. I would not suggest XpertHR goes beyond what I have already stated for compliance.
I've not used many other systems in my career other than free resources. I frequently use HR Ninja's to seek advice and offer advice. That platform offers a collaborative HR community approach and is highly valued. CIPD do also offer limited guidance but, XpertHR feels more comprehensive as a one stop shop for all needs.
