An evolving infrastructure provider on a great track
Overall Satisfaction with Vultr Bare Metal
We started using Vultr for small virtual machines for various tasks but have slowly moved all of our infrastructures over, especially now that bare metal offerings are becoming available at more locations. We have been able to almost completely avoid large cloud providers by switching everything to Vultr.
Pros
- Powerful & reliable servers
- Very diverse product offerings and locations
- Awesome pricing
- Constantly improving their offerings and services
Cons
- Object & Block storage in more locations would be very helpful
- There should not be a charge for reserved IPs in use
- Vultr has provided us the resources we need to provide our customers with the solid service they keep coming back for.
- The speed and flexibility of their portal/API has allowed us to rapidly test.
Vultr started out primarily as a VM-only provider, but has since expanded offerings and locations to be a serious alternative for a lot of businesses currently using a large, expensive cloud provider. Vultr may not be for everyone or every workload, but there are many businesses and individuals that are adding way too much complexity and cost to their projects by using large cloud platforms they do not really need.
Update to review:
Vultr's new Optimized Compute offerings are a game changer. They are designed to accommodate a more diverse or resource-intensive workload.
