Overall Satisfaction with VMware ESXi
The majority of our servers have been virtualized, with the exception of our databases. We save money on hardware, energy, and cooling expenditures by virtualizing 25 servers. And it spares us the price and complication of doubling the gear to achieve redundancy. Using virtualization, we can swiftly increase our capacity without increasing the footprint of our infrastructure.
Pros
- VMware ESXi is a dependable platform that provides excellent performance.
- VMware ESXi is compatible with a wide range of operating systems, too.
Cons
- Third-party backup programs cannot be integrated.
- Third-party programs may be able to simplify processes and minimize the number of applications that are needed.
- At such a low cost, VMware ESXi is an excellent buy.
It's hard to beat Hyper-V when it comes to ESXi. Although Hyper-V costs nothing to use, it does require a Windows license that permits you to operate at least two virtual machines (VMs) on the Hyper-V server. I found that VMware ESXi consumes fewer resources than any other virtualization platform I examined.
