Overall Satisfaction with UKG Pro

UKG Pro is our Human Capital Management system. It carries our employee data through the whole life cycle: recruiting, onboarding, payroll, performance, benefits... We run reports through Cognos Analytics (BI). UKG Pro has pre-built many reports that are ready to use, and some of which need little modification to suit our specific needs.

Pros

  • data flows well from Recruiting through Onboarding into Core
  • they have a lot of resources available to help us learn
  • the employees I interact with really seem to care about customers

Cons

  • Their rapid response time for support has gotten unbearably long. Three years ago their customer support was stellar, now it's borderline terrible.
  • Usually when an employee has issues with UKG Pro, the solution is to clear cookies and cache, just because UKG is quirky.
  • The training - while there is a lot available, it is very general. It doesn't cover the "well, yeah, but what about this..." type of scenarios. Much of the training and resources only get you half way there.
  • ability to manage all HR activities within one platform.
UKG Pro has a lot of functionality that we currently don't use. It is not customizable to match "the way we do things" so therefore we have modules that we simply don't use. Not UKG's fault. For example, the Compensation module - we could be doing annual merit increases directly in UKG but we're stuck in the Excel spreadsheet.
UKG Pro is my job. I'm the system administrator. it directly affects my life every day.

I don't have experience with other HCM platforms, so it's difficult to expand on this. I like that it is user-friendly. Most of the every day stuff can be easily picked up and taught to others. The interface is pleasant enough to work with. They do make changes at their spring or fall updates that were clearly not thought through in many users' opinion. They have a great community where all customers are welcome and encouraged to ask questions and share knowledge and experience. I appreciate that.
