Good for restaurants, not for retail
Overall Satisfaction with Toast Point of Sale
Toast Point of Sale has been a great addition to our restaurants. It covers all areas we were looking for and has helped us to grow and save money. We use it companywide at this time. It has helped us with downtime in credit card processing. Being in Southwest Florida, the lightning capital of the world, this feature alone saves me thousands every year. Menu management is a breeze and saves a considerable amount of time.
Pros
- Integrated online ordering makes it a breeze. Once the customer places their order it goes directly to the kitchen!
- Offline mode allows us to capture credit card sales even when the Internet is down.
- Menu management allows me to make changes to the menu at one store and then automatically applies those changes to the rest of them.
- Reporting is top notch and extremely informational.
- PCI compliance burden is now off of me (unlike when we used "big box" POS companies in the past) and now falls directly on Toast Point of Sale.
Cons
- Customer service, at times, could use some help
- Cost of service
- Offline mode has helped with ROI, as we are still able to process credit cards, whereas before we could not and would have to accept cash only.
- A streamlined and integrated online ordering platform has cut down on the need of a third-party platform.
- Customer loyalty program has really motivated customers to order more often with higher ticket averages.
- Point of Success, Revel Systems and Upserve POS (formerly Breadcrumb)
Overall, Toast Point of Sale was the best system that fit all of our needs and wants in a POS system. For the past five years that we have used them, they have been constantly improving and truly have the best intentions for their customers. Every month they perform updates and are constantly adding new features for customers to utilize and maximize their investment.
