Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use both SMP 7.6 and DS6.9 (currently reviewing the suitability of GSS3.0). These products combined allow us to manage the OS deployment, software deployment and critical patching of over 3000 endpoints. Coming from a Microsoft background and having used other third party solutions I am impressed by how feature rich these products are; although SMP 7.6 suffers somewhat in terms of stability it's vastly improved in the short time I have used it and I expect it to continue to do so in the future.

Alternatives Considered

The decision to use Symantec was not my own but I believe it competes well against other products such as SCCM offering more features.

Symantec is well suited for large enterprise environments (SMP7) and smaller environments (DS6.9).

Symantec SMP i using from version 7.0 till date 7.6. I have very good experience with this product....Its a complete Endpoint management product.. 1) For patch management it really worth because it not only patching Microsoft but other third party vendors patching also do, it saves to purchase other products for patching only. 2) In latest 7.6 version we can manage Cloud or roaming user also its very good feature in this product. It helps to collect basically inventory and many a times if roaming user needed any software to be installed on there laptop we can easily deploy the software package on roaming users laptop. 3) For Deployment solution also i have a good experience........We use Scripted OS installation, Capture of image, Deploy of image very easily on manage as well as standalone machines very easily. We can do Hardware independent imaging also very smoothly no issue into that just to add proper drivers into drivers database. 4) Overall very good
