Overall Satisfaction with SQL Sentry Performance Advisor

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use SQL Sentry Performance advisor in our IT Application Infrastructure Team. We use it to pro actively monitor the database resources and trends. Based on trending we take corrective measures.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Does a great job at cutting down the clutter in wait stats by focusing only on relevant waits.
It has very low watcher affect on the SQL servers

Cons

Interface.. Interface.. Web interface is a much needed for this product. That's the main drawback in my opinion compared to the competition. That will make it easy for users to access the information instead of RDPing to the server.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited to trouble shoot and finding RCA to performance issues. If trending analysis is the only purpose, this is an overkill.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to rate SQL Sentry and for providing some great information on how we can improve our products. I do want to mention that we are actually in the beginning stages of expanding our web interface options. Currently we do have the SQL Sentry Cloud functionality, which allows you to see general server health, fired conditions, and generate reports. While this is great functionally, we realize having more access to full feature sets through a web interface would be extremely helpful for our users. While there is currently no explicit timeline for the implementation of this functionality, I did want to make you aware that it is something we are actively working on. Thank you for being a valued customer of SQL Sentry!
