Overall Satisfaction with smartocto

We use it constantly to monitor what articles work well on our website and app. This way we can change what pieces get put on top of the home page to make sure articles people find interesting get more attention.

  • A/B-testing of headlines

  • The live view of amount of people reading a piece is broken too often
  • No way to say where in the article people stopped reading
  • The live view of amount of readers in articles

I wouldn't recommend using Smartocto. There are better tools that do more and do it better.

It is unfortunate that you have troubles with the tool and we encourage you to reach out to us directly and allow us to help. Our core purpose and goal is to make it easy on the newsroom. As smartocto is a modular solution, offering a wide variety of features and modules, it seems that your company didn’t opt for the module which provides detailed information about the reading depth. Our suggestion is to reach out to the smartocto super-user in your company and ask for more information on the package you have available at your newsroom. Also, sorry to hear that your live view is broken too often - this is, unfortunately, one of the side effects when a company chooses to integrate smartocto with Google Analytics version 3, specifically the past few months. Whenever there is a bug or issue on the data provider side, it reflects in our tool. Smartocto does awesome data collection, and perhaps we can look into the possibilities of moving the service in that direction.
