SAP Integration Suite Review

Overall Satisfaction with SAP Integration Suite
Pros
- Myriad of prepackaged integration content available out of the box and suite of connectivity options to both SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Robust, resilient platform with above 99% availability guarantee. Choice of deployment options- cloud/hybrid, hyperscaler providers like GCP, AWS, Azure etc. and at several geographical locations.
- Great enabler of API-first Integration design approach. Provides fully developed API management portal with option to catalog APIs via API Business Hub Enterprise.
- Allows to implement Event-Driven architecture via SAP Event Mesh (small scale) or via SAP Integration Suite Advanced Event Mesh (high/ultra-high loads).
Cons
- Absence of dedicated EOIO option in integration Flow design
- Absence of robust logging feature beyond 30 days (similar to SAP PO)
- Lack of a retry mechanism out-of-the-box for asynchronous message processing failures
- Would like an IDE style script designer UI within the tenant itself as opposed to the basic script writing option currently available.
- We expect to reduce our overall annual integration cost by moving to a cloud based platform such as SAP Integration Suite rather than an on-premise one.
- In order to address modern challenges in retail industry, we expect to be better placed for technology adoption, better customer experience and overall business growth
- With advent of AI, SAP Integration Suite will help us leverage value from real time data integrations and insights.
