Overall Satisfaction with SAP Integration Suite

SAP Integration Suite allows us to design complex integration flows (iflows), for example, a flow specific to a given payment scheme, such as Faster Payments or Bacs or Chaps, which facilitates payment transfer to/from that payment rail, with all necessary security, compliance and integration components. We also build complex, orchestrated composite APIs and webhook communication via SAP Integration Suite.

Pros

  • Integration with an external system (such as pay.uk)
  • Incorporating API security into the integration flow, such as OAuth tokens or TLS encryption
  • Visualizing the integration flow as a process, with the ability to zoom in on various components

Cons

  • Could be even more business friendly with programming language abstracted
  • Ability to simulate the integration flow instead of a real run
  • Have some kind of an AI-assistant suggesting the optimal design of an integration flow as it's being built (best practice assistant)
  • Positive impact would be availability of pre-defined integration content via templates.
  • One can re-use a template as a starting point to modify and adopt to client-specific integration flow.
  • Availability of adaptors and connectors, making it easier to piece together the integration flow.
Our organization has benefited from SAP Integration Suite's cloud application and data integrations. For example, we are using it to integrate with Kafka and then with Snowflake to send multiple SAP provider objects. Additional benefits are creation and orchestration of Event-driven messages via webhooks. Data integration in a secure and compliant fashion is paramount.
We are not using predictive analytics and insights as much, apart from monitoring dashboard of all of the CPI / integration flows to see the run-time statistics and zooming in on underlying artifact metadata and see the message payloads. Definitely want to explore additional predictive analytics capabilities but not sure if an additional licenses are required for that.
SAP Integration Suite was already part of our SAP stack, part of Business Technology Platform, with out-of-the-box integration with S/4 HANA transactional and ERP system that we are using as our main back-end. Thus, we are achieving significant Total Cost Optimization benefits or running both solutions on the same platform, hosted on Azure cloud.

Do you think SAP Integration Suite delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with SAP Integration Suite's feature set?

Yes

Did SAP Integration Suite live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of SAP Integration Suite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy SAP Integration Suite again?

Yes

It is suite best when a company needs to build a complex integration flow, meaning multiple system components need to be orchestrated together in a logical sequence, with business logic / rules applied as well as supporting components, such as API security, tokens, encryption etc. It is less suited to design business process flows that are user friendly.
