Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We use Sage Intacct as our accounting software and the basis for a lot of our reporting. The level of detail that Sage allows us to capture, particularly via import, makes our reporting much more robust. The ability to create custom reports with relative ease has not only sped up our monthly reporting process but also allowed us to customize reporting to track our KPIs and quickly report to our operations team so they can address issues. Within the next year, we will be integrating Sage with our CRM via API to eliminate many of our manual imports and make reporting even faster and more reliable.

Pros

  • DIY Custom Reporting
  • Data importing
  • Dimension balance reporting

Cons

  • Fixed assets module
  • Make custom reporting even more intuitive
  • Improve invoice write-offs process
  • Cut down on days to close by 50%
  • End of month reporting much more robust
  • Ad-hoc reporting much faster and more reliable
To my knowledge, we are not currently taking advantage of automation in these areas, but I would be interested in learning more about how it could benefit us.

I was not present for the transition from Quickbooks to Sage; however, any additional configurations or changes to current configurations have been fairly easy.

Do you think Sage Intacct delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Sage Intacct's feature set?

Yes

Did Sage Intacct live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

Yes

Much better at handling imports/exports.

Better pre-set reports.

Much better capability to create custom reports.

Better drill-down capabilities.

Ability to create reports similar to Sage's dimension balances reporting cannot be done within Microsoft's Great Plains or Quickbooks (to my knowledge).
Well suited for multi-location, multi-dimensional users (i.e. multiple products, multiple customers, etc.). It is also well-suited for users who want to be able to create their own custom reports. The only scenario I can think of where Sage wouldn't be appropriate is very small, straightforward businesses that may not need all the functionality that Sage can provide.

Sage Intacct Training

The free training is very minimal. For what we pay for the service, I would like more training. We end up training new users in-house because the provided free training is not nearly comprehensive enough. That being said, the training provided, for the material covered, was adequate and relevant for the given topics.
