Overall Satisfaction with RunMyJobs

I manage SAP job scheduling for my company. This would include end to end management like scheduling, reporting, and taking care of the underlying infrastructure. The main problem I run into when using Redwood's RunMyJobs is when it comes to suspending jobs during maintenance or upgrades. A lot of the time users ask me to get a list of jobs running during a particular time window and there are no early reporting tools available.

Pros

  • Setting up jobs is easy.
  • Importing jobs from SAP
  • Running OS commands or OS scripts

Cons

  • Reporting based on different selection criteria
  • Job delay and failure notifications
  • We can manage jobs for multiple systems and platforms.
  • For a small company like us this ROI is less than 3 years.
  • Less maintenance cost as we are using existing SAP license.
RunMyJobs is easy to manage.

Do you think Redwood RunMyJobs delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Redwood RunMyJobs's feature set?

No

Did Redwood RunMyJobs live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Redwood RunMyJobs go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Redwood RunMyJobs again?

Yes

Well suited in an SAP environment where I can import jobs from SAP. Another good thing is you can move jobs from one system to another. Less flexible when it comes to scheduling based on multiple selection criteria. There is room to import with reporting and monitoring.

Thank you for your review of RunMyJobs. We are delighted to clear up some misperceptions. There definitely is a way, via filters, for you to look at jobs in a particular time window when suspending jobs for maintenance or support with Redwood BPA. However, when it comes to Monitoring/Alerting you are correct. Because of the reduced functionality SAP’s roadmap required from our solution (they thought Solution Manager would do this), Redwood BPA customers do not have the ability to easily monitor or provide alerts on your jobs. We do offer an add-on Monitoring/ Alerting Module that provide robust capabilities. We would be more than happy to get on a call to provide you with an overview on how to do that and any other issues or concerns you might have. Please reach out to your Account Executive or our support team.
