Overall Satisfaction with Quickbase
We utilize Quickbase in many situations, from simple forms to capture essential information and status updates to increasingly more complex systems that help connect different departments and condense daily operation KPIs into one automated report or dashboard. Quickbase helps solve communication breakdowns and minimizes the need to memorize information. Accessing the databases while on the road is highly beneficial and allows us to avoid relaying information over the phone and waiting until that department is within their working hours.
Pros
- Transparency of updates, maintenance, and current server status.
- Ease of application creation and their connections, both in and outside of Quickbase.
- I generate reports with real-time data and can send notifications or subscription reports.
Cons
- The new forms lack usability when viewing a linked record/report inside the form and then trying to edit that record/report.
- Mobile App design and usability.
- We are reorganizing steps within a pipeline. Sometimes, rebuilding the pipeline from scratch is more accessible, albeit time-consuming.
- Data accuracy has improved greatly, as has the ability to perform quality control checks. Reports that are set up to check for possible issues can then be emailed daily whenever a record meets the criteria for review.
- Time is saved by no longer requiring reports to be constructed manually daily or weekly.
- Communication between departments has increased while reducing the need to have department tasks overlap just for reporting purposes.
Quickbase has introduced the ability to have dashboards with reports pulled from multiple applications. This allows each department to work within its own set of applications made specifically for its tasks and responsibilities. Then, we are able to pull the relevant information and auto-populate various fields or even create the needed records for processes within other departments, depending on the situation.
Quickbase is very easy to change on the fly. If we have a couple of projects that require some specific details, we can either add options to the existing process and fields or add the new fields within 5 minutes (depending on the request). Even making new reports to highlight a certain aspect of our operations can be done extremely quickly without waiting for IT or the software itself to implement a solution.
Our projects are complex because each one can be very different from the next and require high flexibility while still maintaining standards and consistency between terms and processes. We have utilized this by having preset selections and the option to add your own text in a separate field. This will then get processed through a formula that can combine the two fields, and if we notice that an option is consistently being entered manually, we can add it to the preset options and inform the team of the change.
